Relaxed ribbing?

i hate it when your hoodie's ribbing is tight around the wrists or the waist.  most tutorials say to stretch the ribbing and pin it to the fabric so after you sew it it will shrink back.  i am gonna put ribbing on my hoodie but i don't want it to be tight, should i just not stretch the ribbing much or at all before i put it on?  Do you guys know what i'm talking about?

just make the ribbing the same exact length of the thing you are trying to put it on. lets say youre doing the cuff of a sleeve. make the ribbing the same length of the sleeve so you dont have to stretch it in order to sew it on.

thanks man.  i'm just finishing up my first hoodie now (STOKED!)  i put the ribbing on the same size at first but it felt weird to me so i made just a little bit shorter.  now its still really loose but i can still feel it on my wrists.  As i did it i realized that it wasn't too hard i just haven't sewed anything in soooo long i can't wait to wear this thing out skiing!

I fail so bad.  i don't know how to post pictures.  i know this is make your own hoodie cult but i've read the thread on how to post pictures so many times and i have no clue of what to do.  Can someone help me out with my noob problem?  Anyway I made this hoodie out of the fabric from 3 older hoodies (2 blue, 1 grey)  I wasn't really sure what I was doing i didnt' use any tutorials or templates so it came out kinda scrappy but I'm happy with the result, which you will be able to see if i could ever get the picture up (i guess you could just click it but who wants that)  Anyway more to come.  finished my first hoodie and my summer drop in today (and made a cake :)  it was a good day if only i could figure out how to post a picture....
