Amazing African Photography

Found this the other day and thought i would share cause everyone should see this.

some of his photos are just absolutely stunning, and its nice to see a different way of shooting african wildlife. It could be debated some of his photos are over edited i guess, i personally think there is a few of them that are, whats your opinions NS?

I would have to agree that a couple are over-edited, but quite a few are just amazing.

The super-edited portraits don't do anything for me, but the landscape shots, especially "exodus" are really impressive. Do you know what he shoots with?

Is that the "elephant exodus'?

Unforunately not, some shots look alot like film, but im guessing that is just his use of DOF and editing.
In his "A shadow falls" portfolio are some of my favourites from him i think.
It would be interesting to see what his RAW images look like straight from the camera. But either way he definitely captures the beauty of the animals exactly as it is.

they're all "over-edited", that is his style of photography.

I think he pulls it off with amazing scenes.

His editing is definitely his style and differentiates him from other wildlife photographers.

He shoots a Pentax 67II Film camera, and not sure what lense, pretty interesting article about him here

not to beat a deceased horse...

but i found that accidentally while i was looking for prints. another good article on him and thought some people might be interested.

I'm pretty sure he only does things that are possible in the dark room, so I'm not quite sure what you mean by over-edited. If you know how to expose and develop according to the lighting situation, there are quite a few things you can do with b&w film, especially once you get into using colored filters. Also keep in mind that he uses infrared film sometimes...
