Quick help appreciated. K2 Extreme or Line Afterbang?

I'm in a pinch here. My '08 Invaders are seeing their last days; I can't carry speed for jumps anymore, and the edges are falling apart (I've thrashed them for the last 2 and a half years and they've held up fine). But, they are now in need of replacement. I have choices of 179 Extremes for $280 and 177 Afterbangs for $319.

I really liked my invaders, but I want a ski that is a little stiffer for jumping. Basically I am not sure which of these two skis to get, and I would like to get one of them today. Please post if you have any preference. I'll be using them for jibbing/jumping/urban.

I'm 6'1, 180 lbs.

well the extremes are definitely on the other end of the spectrum compared to the invaders. the extremes are pretty darn stiff and heavy which is great for big jumps because they do not noodle out on you at all but this makes them a tad harder to butter and press
I've heard good things about the Afterbangs but I haven't actually used them so I can't comment on them too much but I really like the extremes on jumps, pretty dece on rails and they have held up really well to my abuse (aside from the crappy topsheets)

tons of peoples afterbangs are falling apart.  delam and edge damage.  they are a really nice ski for rails as they are full wood so super poppy.  on jumps they are nice but once you get into the like 50 ft jumps they are a little soft.  in my opinion get the k2 extremes because they are alot more durable, graphics look way better and the bases can actually hold wax.

mah extremes cant hold wax. i had one core shot that i've waxed 3 times myself, 2 times in a shop and it keeps on falling out. otherwise than that, the extremes are a heavy, but very durable park ski

yeah my extremes dont hold wax either but its because the base is hard as rock and super tough

oh and i looked at your height and you might like the extra length of the extremes
177 a-bangs might feel short especially on jumps but probably easier on rails

i have this years extremes and they are kinda heavy but they are pretty decent on rails n jumps, there pretty stiff, the bases are strong, the only shitty thing about them is the topsheet chips off

at 6'1" and 180lbs, it seems the flex of the Extreme might be more beneficial to you. You are going to have more of a platform on jumps. It is a real ski. Snappy and stiffer than most total park specific skis as we made it to handle a severe beating. Some people don't like a ski like that as they have only used something significantly softer, but again your body weight will make that ski work for you just fine.

definitely go with the extremes because the extremes are way stiffer than a bangs, and the extremes will measure 4 cms longer, so looking looking at a 183 extreme which is perfect for your height
