1) pop then spin and look at the direction you´re spinning towards
2)after 90 degrees huk your knees up to your chest, but still look at the direction that you are spining against
3)grab but don´t reach for it let it come to you if you know what i mean, otherwise it will get you off balance.
4)bang bang you landed it (rideaway)

i have the same probblem with locking and tweaking certian grabs, since you can grab saftey, slap your hand on there (dont squezzzeee) then you can just slide it back as you send you heels into you ass . boom you have a sick tail grab

get on a trampoline. Practice on that! low risk and it helps get air awareness an the feel
