damn i just dislocated my shoulder on a rail today, i went to the er and got it all fixed, x rays said that nothing happened really. so the doctor told me to wer this annoying ass sling for a week then go see an orthopedic to get cleared in a week, so i was happy, i would be able to ski in another two weeks... so my mom shows up to the hospital and shit and as were going home i tell her that ill be fine in two weeks and that i cant wait to ski again... she looks at me and tells me that im done sking in the park, and that she cant trust me going alone with my friends anymore.. so i guess im like grounded from sking.. idk what to do, im pissed off.. i guess i kinda deserve it because i did screw up but she cant take sking away from me... has this happened to any of you guys? idk what to do to convince my parents to let me ski again.. help please

Explain to her that it's an important part of your life and It's something you put your whole begin into. And tell her that you'll be more careful (I usually am after an injury) and if you're not wearing a helmet, buy one

im trying and nah man im always rocking a helmet no matter what, helmets are the smartest possible thing, they can save ur life and even look steezy if worn right haha

i mean i have a car but if i leave the house at 8 am and come back at 9 pm on a sunday theyre gonna know where i was .. the closest hill around me is liek an hour away because i live near chicago.. so thatsa bitchh

yeah, just explain that skiing is really important to you and that it would be heartless of her to take it away from you. and you didn't really mess up it could have happened to anyone, but yeah helmets are defff good ideas i got a concussion yesterday and if i wasn't wearing a helmet it wuold have been alot worse.

just explain that it is really important and tell them that you feel that youve recovered fully, or just say your going to the hill to carve the mountain but actually go in the park or something. that sounds like it sucks though

just give it a bit, she will forget about it or something. my dad knows that no matter what i do to myself im going to keep skiing what i want to. parents get there when they realize you are gonna do what you love and a few broken bones or whatev isnt the end of the world

Tell them you want to start MMA fighting. They'll realize soon enough that skiing is safe. But seriosly just leave them alone for awhile and once the two weeks are over ask them. I know when I fucked my knee up my mom wanted me to stay off of "big jumps" (limiting me to rollers) once I recovered they realized that I've been out for 9 months from hockey before. Once everything cools down I'm sure she will let you shred again

Getting some A's or B's on quizes and studying where they can see you always helps too. I'd say if you stay out of trouble and out of their hair they'll ease up
