Line Ep pros question...

I really like the look of them, and they sound like such a fun ski, but im 6 ft. about 175-180 pounds (at 16) i was wondering if theyd be too soft for me, and if I should just look toward the hellbents....or if they would be alright to ride.    thanks.

the hellbents i believe are even softer and deffinatly heavier. i think you could ride the EPs but they will be super soft and playful for you. If you want a stiffer ski with tons of rocker fatypus alotta rocker comes in a 190 or surface one life or new life. the new life is symmetrical and has alot of rocker as well.

and as far as if you should get them or not, i had the 07/08s last year, im 6'2" and 160lbs and i found them to soft. in deep untracked they were great, but in any crud they were death, just to soft to be a great ski. bents feel like wet cardboard on your feet. if your set on a ski like bents/EPs, get on3p caylors in 181(184) or 191(194). basically the same ski as bents, just a tad bit stiffer, lighter, more poppy, turn better, and cheeper.

i am 6'1, 200 lbs, and LOVE my EPs. in soft snow, they are the bees knees. definitely a quiver ski, though, obviously. not a daily driver, unless you are lucky enough to live somewhere that always gets dumped on.

Yeah dude i'm like 5 11 and 175-80 and i absolutely love my EP's. I wish they were a tad bit stiffer but in the deep stuff they can't be beat. They still absolutely rip in the crud you just have to be a little more careful. They even handle pretty well on hardpack for a pow-specific. I would recommend them to anybody for sure, and next year's are a little stiffer too! perfect.

i have some excellent news that i will share with you: next years EP's=10%-15% stiffer

boom, there ya go. next years are where its at.

I'm 6'5 210 and i ride bacons, and im getting next years EP's

This years were supposed to be 10-15% percent stiffer and it is in no way noticable, the only people who think they feel it just think that because they were told it is, IMO(placebo effect kinda thing).  next years I bet will be just like this years flex, which is just like last years flex.

You're too big IMO, get something else.

im around your size and id say ep's are a quiver ski for sure
but i love mine in untracked shit and they are still fun elsewhere i would just like something else on other days/terrain. i would definitely not get bents over ep's tho

Dude, you should look at 191 ON3P Caylors, or something like that. Maybe 189 Hellbents, but I would suggest ON3P. Cuz they are core...

the faty-pus allotta skis have hardly any rocker, are kinda stiff and a lot of camber, so they r absolutely nothing like the ep pros or bents

I'm 6'1" and 170 lbs. I love my EP Pros. Perfect flex.

Although I think that they're one those skis that if you have to ask whether they are too soft, then they are. I really like soft-flexing skis (I have EP's and Elizabeths), but if you don't, then get something else.

Hellbents have a stiffer nose but the tail is not a lot stiffer than the EP Pro's tail.

next years is a lot stiffer. hand flexing it, its about the same as the hellbent, if not a bit stiffer underfoot (tip and tail are still softer). i was shocked when i groped this years, they are dramatically beefed, id say more like 20% and not the fake 10% of last year.

I didn't notice a difference between hand flexing 09s and 10s(only skied '10s), but if 11s have that much difference(and don't get wayy softer in 4 days of riding) that'd make them much better IMO.  I'll have to try them..

I would go with the benchetlers. There stiffer than the bents and ep's. They also Arnt like wet noodles on groomers and crud and can rip groomers and crud. Another good choice would be CR's or caylors

I have skied EP's in all sorts of conditions & only time the felt sketched out was on very hard pack. Thought they rocked in everything else. Maybe its cause I only weigh 150 lbs.
