North American Debate - For all you Camericans Out There

Waste of money/time on something that's frivolous. Trying to stop something that affects such a small portion of population and dangers very little lives in comparison to problems like malaria and HIV and famine and almost any other world wide problem is just a waste of money and time. It's only a way of showing dominance and doesn't actually help the world. Resources could be put to much, much better uses.

Things are getting dark, not just in North America, but worldwide.  The fact of the matter is that the government is a nearly unlimited power, and their so called "war on terror" is an excuse to begin taking away rights and freedoms.  There is way too much to say on such a broad topic, but check out http://www.infowars.com/domestic-assassination-of-extremists-likely-by-2012/ for some good information about what may be coming.  The problem with all this speculation is that even though it may be grounded in fact, it will never be reported on CNN or any of the other  mass media outlets, and as a result the large majority of the public will be oblivious to all of this until it's already too late.  Do yourselves a favor and educate yourself a little bit.

I just finished a class on media and terror and my views have definatly changed some, when i started the class i didnt know much and if asked i would state a pretty standard liberal point of view of its not our business but there are still bad people blah blah blah. Now after alot of first hand accounts and writings from people who spend their lives thinking about this i see it a little different and i think i can see more of the "why"..

True Muslims hate the Jews and the West, period. Their Religion tells them to kill us because their form of judgment day will not come until Islam rules the world and if they dont follow these orders that they are equal to non muslims and deserve to die. I am not making this up, these are some forpoints in the Queran. That being said you can classify Muslims as generally moderate or radical the latter being the "true" hate filled Islam that much of the Middle East follows (mainly because thats all they know), moderates are followers of Islam but those with enough sense to understand that in this day in age you cannot go around declareing war on people of opposing views, these are people who just want to follow the Religion they were brought up in and are attached to, but do not believe in violence and evangelism. The problem is at this point moderates are heretics, and trying to argue with Radicals is like any other extreme religious group, they are just so entrenched in their ideals that nothing gets through to them. What needs to happen is Islam has to go through a revolution of Ideals where ancient practices are thrown out and a modern approach is put in its place. This cannot be done by non Muslims, only by moderates who stand up for what they believe in, the best thing we the west can do is stay out of their way and let them figure out their problems, it will happen, eventually, we just need to make sure we do what we can here to protect ourselves and support non violent Islam(which right now is an oxymoron).

So basiaclly theres nothing we do ourselves so we shouldnt be spending a ton of money and giving up personal privacy, but that doesnt mean dont protect ourselves, there are people that want nothing except for Jews and the West to die.

Giving up freedom for personal protection and fear is what we do best. Look at America during the cold war; We created the CIA, put in place unnecessary restrictions on free speech, and even made it illegal to speak if you were believed to have socialist/communist views (and many people were sent to jail). We gave up constitutional rights because we were afraid.

Oh don't get me wrong Im not hating on Muslims by any means. I am just saying that they are very angry at the West... and for very good reason. If they had done to us what we have done to them I assure you that the Middle East would be a smoldering hole.

wrong, the muslim turks took over jerusalem from the christain byzantine empire, who previously let whoever the fuck come into their country and mill about. The Muslims were claiming Jihad and wanted to conquer all of europe. The Seljuk Turkish goal was to eliminate the Christian Empires. The art and literature associated with turks at this time was due to the assimilation of persian culture, but the Islamic rule was literally out for blood, it was in all reality a jihad. The christains though, well they were out for blood also.   

Did i mention the turks removed ALL jews form jerusalem upon their conquest and destroyed jewish temples, replacing them with mosques. This is not to say the crusades were not fucked up cause they were. After the Fourth Crusade Muslim rule allowed all religions to prosper because they did not want another crusade.

Did you read what i said? I said modernate muslims, the muslims such as the ones you and I know the people who live with us in a modern world have to ignore parts of the Koran to do so. True full on Islam is an extremely aggressive Ideology whose core believes are biased on expansion that were acceptable in a different time. So yes Christianity has its share of violence in the past but is any of that still preached today? Other religions, and most likely the muslims you and i may know have been able to keep up with changing social beliefs and practice religion without violent and expansive ideologies. I said before that these moderate Muslims need to become the true definition of Islam and what is practiced in some places as a way of life needs to end.

I am sorry if i offended you i dont mean to, but in order to really discuss the situation you need to try and break it down as far you can define everything accurately and this is what ive come to, and im saying that Muslims you know who are good people need to become what all Islam is. I hope this clarifies my last post a little bit.
