Help my dumbass (Physics) +K for answer

I can't figure this shit out for the life of me. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

A mass M is attached to a spring which has a spring constant, k. The mass is set into motion and the period is measured to be 1.5 seconds. Next a 1 kg mass is added to M. When this altered system is set into motion the period is measured to be 2.5 seconds. Find the calues of the mass, M, and the spring constant, k. (Answers have to have 4 significant digits too)

Frequency= 1/all that shit you posted. But thats not the problem. I need the origional Mass before the kg got added to it, and the spring constant, K.

Sorry meant to say period. You can plug in how period is changed by adding the mass and go from there.

set up two equations with 2 unknowns, k and m. For the first one use m and k, for the second use (m+1) and k (since the k is the same). solve

I have 5.55=m/k
and 15.4=m+1/k

And now I'm stuck again.

Yo Nu Wu, i tried to plug shit in to your equations but it came out as k=.1008. I feel like it needs to be a lot bigger then that. I know it's a lot to ask but could you solve for M and K to double check what i got?

what physics are you in? he used T =2pi(m/k)^(1/2)

if you dont have that formula? T is the period, (1/f if i remember correctly), m is the mass is kg and k is the spring constant in N/m. then, you have to set up two equations, and make them equal to eachother and solve!
