some place elevated and to the side, but not PERFECTLY to the side, so its not like a dead on side angle.

higher than the jump, and make sure you can see the landing and the lip.  i hate when i see a guy flying out of nowhere in a video

multiple angles are best. Below and above for take off and landing shot, also staggering at a 45 degree angle to the jump from an elevated position.
