Getting sponsored

So I am now starting to get pretty tight with my tricks and im pree confident with my riding skills. was just wondering for minor sponsherships what kind of tricks and shit should i be able to throw down

for small time, local shop spancorization, I'd want to be able to confidently stick fronts, backs, grabbed 5's, 270's on/off, decent in pipe, and flexible enough to shralp the pow

Not spank'zd, but before I even think about it, the above is what I'd want to be comfortable with

that's for like a local shop sponsor. if you're looking for something bigger, like a ski or outerwear company, you'd better be throwing doubles and pretzeling urban rails.

of course, that's for a full sponsorship. big companies give out smaller ones occasionally. like discounted skis/outerwear, free hats/stickers etc.

You have to fit the image of the shop you want to sponsor you as well i.e. don't be a dick to gapers or anyone on the hill or off the hill when your reppin there shit for that matter. Enter in a few contest as well, because skill level and style can differ from area to area. See what the other kids are doin, if they are hooked up or not, and if they are what their general attitude is like and what advice they have for your local shops. Events are also a good place to meet your local shop team manager and start from there.

i know i'll get flamed for this, but ok

sponsoring is in my opinion more a thing of personality than of skiing. see, what does a company want from you, how can you little kid help a company (i am studying economics). you have to be able to endorse your sponsor, to ensure that you give them back the $ they gave you. ok, you have to be a good skier too, but its not like dub cork 10 = free skis.

in my opinion, companies are way to loose with their sponsorings. i am pretty sure that it is right now a very tough business and i dont get how you can sponsor 10 kids that are somewhere in the area "switch 5 to one ore two ungrabbed doubles" at best (a company here in austria).

pretty much what ive heard is you have to be a good strong rider with your skills and stuff but also you need to be able to stand out, to not be a douchbag to people and to pretty much give their company a good name whether it be with your riding skills or personality.

Why should you be flamed? You're absolutely correct. Being a solid skier is a big part of it, of course, but certainly they also want someone who will promote their company well. More exposure for them.

i say go to competitions...and if the reps pick u out then ur good enough to be sponsored...if they dont see anything special then keep getting better so u get more noticed.

this. they want to see how you stack up versus everyone else. also prob a good idea to provide all sorts of media to them (video, pics) for their promotional use. be up to travel around your area, visit many resorts. patrick daegle (sp?) poor fucking kid is from the back woods in maine, has a mean game, but lives in the middle of nowhere. also, a company would be looking for a people type person, who could promote the brand

this is all coming from a guy who is in no way sponsored, but unlike you, reads other threads before he creates a thread using the little neat box in the upper right corner.

pretty much everyone i ride with can do these, these are very basic tricks. If this got you sponsored, literally every one of my friends and I would be sponsored, which none of us are.There's no formula, but this is waaay to easy of a baseline

You'll have a pretty good idea if you're good enough. The more important thing is that you know every patroller, lift op, ticket salesperson, coach, instructor, rental worker, and shop owner at your local mountain. At the shop sponsorship level, it's more about who you know.

i own my own company and people ask me all the time for sponsorships. what i like to see is good tricks off decentlty sized jumps ( i like 7's and 9's) i like lots of switch tricks. combos on rails, and 4's out and you better afterbang the fuck out it

basically, it depends what style the company sponsor person/man likes

Get grabbed 10s, pretzel 4s, all flips with some steeze, and market yourself well in comps and such. Thats your best shot from what ive seen.

You type sponsorhouse.com in your address bar and it takes you to the website still though I think. At least, when I checked two years ago it did.
