Yea, its pretty sick. Im just testing it for now, shooting it for the weekend to see if I want to pick it up. I will see what happens. The only issue that i am seeing is overlap with the 70-200 2.8 I have my eye on...
...Granted, I would be using them for totally different things, the 2.8 grey bird days in the park and trees, and the 100-400 blue bird in open situations down in Argentina. So there is a spot for both. its just a matter of dropping more money on them.
Both fit in great the EFS 18-135 IS the 7d comes with. Just need to add a fisheye and a few primes, and I will have the Canon kit set up, and no more Minolta/Sony glass.
i'd like the 100-400 for serious big mountain shooting but i'd find it somewhat limiting in other situations. i'm happy with the 70-200 f/4, it's light, sharp, and has a good range
