can you see a little bit of the core? but yes you can fix it. or a ski shop can. the only thing is that there will be a color difference, so cosmetically it will look different, otherwise after they fill it and even it out, i would just get a base grind on the whole ski to further even it out and get it back to normal
Wow, did you just vertically drop straight on to a rock? That looks gnarly.
I'd take it into a shop. If you have to ask if you can fix it, you probably can't. No offense, but even if you did do it yourself it would probably come right out anyways.
If you rode with it all day isn't there already water in the core? You'd want to remove the moisture in there to prevent them from getting noodley, well, more noodley anyway.
But yea your shop is retarded, go to another shop that actually knows what the fuck they are doing and don't delay in getting there and letting more moisture get into the core
definately dont delay. dry it out, then put some tape over it (duct tape) thats what i did so i wouldnt get ir worse. But make sure its dry and clean first!
if you give it to a shop theyll cut out a little square of base material off your ski where the huge fuckup is then theyll throw in a fresh patch of ptex. you can do it yourself but that looks pretty gnarly so id go to a legit technician
Yes, I believe they did fix that. It was on discovery channel or something. It looked like they were grinding away at those bitches with a circular saw it was gnarley.
if i ask my shop to do some bigger repairs they automatically fill up the smaller scratches as well since it's no biggie when they're already busy on my ski with the ptex gun...
