Whats the best way to kill time on a (crazy) road trip?

right so tomorrow i head off to the french Alpes with my University's snowsports club.... there will be over 400 people going from my uni in something like 19 coaches in one massive convoy... only problem is that it will take 26hours to get there!

so my question is what should we do to pass the time?

being typical students the whole trip will be one hell of a piss up....

we have the "port to port" challenge...my uni is based in a port city, and we are taking the ferry from the port of dover, so the aim is to finish a bottle of Port before we get to the ferry terminal!

there is also talk of doing something called the "drink the regions of france".... the whole coach has to finish a bottle of whatever that french region is famous for while we are driving through it.

For example: a bottle of Bordeaux when we cruise thru Bordeaux and a bottle of champagne when we cruise through the region of Champagne!

The coaches should have a DVD player so I am bringing most of my skiing DVDs such as EDIAS etc.!

I have never been on a trip this large (and crazy before!) so any suggestions?
Has anybody had a simular experience?

24 hours goes a lot quicker than you think it will if you just chill out and watch a few movies. i drive from ontario to florida a few times a year and thats about the same length.

bring an ipod or a psp or somthing thats an eletronic device.  Also bring lots of food and drinks in a bag.  Bring movies that you think lthe group would like that you like.  Probably bring a book maybe......   You should bring some sort of board game or somthing that you can play as a group.  Maybe some cards cause lots of coaches have tables in them.

in the day(s) before your trip, get drunk as fuck, don't sleep at all, then get on the bus, and party some more, bring you ipod+ speakers and lots of booze , if it isn't allowed, fill up a camelback with schnaps (warning it'll taste like schnaps forever, but thats not really a problem imho...)

so eitherway you'll be partying or passed out, but either way you had a great time....

Did the same trip a few years back with my uni, basically the bus ride was pretty horrible everyone was completly trashed before they got on the bus and proceded to get more wasted...long story short the toilet got blocked with puke and shit and for about 20 hours the whole bus reeked. Fun times!

My advice would be to pace yourselves on the booze, by the time you get most of the way through France you can go balls to the wall, but that port to port sounds messy.

You're not going to go through Bordeaux.

Like the guy said above, coach trips to the Alps on the whole suck. People get too drunk, puke, the toilet gets blocked and you'll end up busting for a piss stop every 20 minutes. Then arrive at your resort feeling like dogshit.

Best advice, have a few beers on the ferry, buy a slab of beers each, but don't get too stuck into them on the coach. Save them for resort where beer will be E6+ per pint. Watch a few ski movies, listen to some tunes, get some sleep.

If its a uni trip, you'll not be missing out by taking it easy on the alcohol for one night!

Incidentally, where are you headed? Val Thorens or Val d'Isere are normally the favourites for the pre Xmas uni trips. It looks like you're gonna get pounded with snow later in the week.

true about the Bordeaux crap i spoke about - what was i thinking? i usually make that trip at least twice a year! but anyway im sure you get the picture... drinking games seems to be the order of the day....

going to val d'isere - not been there since i was a wee little ripper, going to be dodging those posh prep kids who no doubt will have got their parents to pay for them

Forecast looks sick , park apparently is pretty good - super stoked!

i have been on a couple massive trips with a college club from michigan to colorado that took 20+ hours. the first couple rows of each bus were filled with liquor and they were always just a mess. ton of dudes who don't know how to drink and end up puking and...just not good. stay away from the back of the bus.
