K2 Extreme 2010 and binding mount

Hey guys!

I just ordered new K2 Extreme 2010 174cm and Salomon STH 12 bindings...

This guy at the ski shop wasnt so sure where to mount the bindings, so we decided to mount at "K2 Suggested" which wasnt marked on the 2010s but on 2009 model was about 4.5cm front from Traditional.

I am supposed to pick up the skis on wednesday so I think I have some time to change mind.

So, main question - I am an all rounder, ride everything, park-powder-slopes... where is the right mounting position?

then id say go for the recommended.

i personally ride more park, but also a bit all mountain and ive got all my skis centered (hell bent, ar6 and ofcourse the symmetrical skis).
its just a preference thing. but i guess the factory recommended line is there for a reason.

Im on my third pair of extremes and ride them all over the mountain, not just in the park and I wouldnt mount them anywhere but center. If you dont have a designated pow ski, you should prbly mount them a bit back because it is real easy to go over the tips in that case. but if the snow is anything but pow mount those in the middle

I had a pair a couple years ago (they were PE's at the time) and mounted on the +4 line and they were not fun.  Mount them at the +7 line, which is a couple cm back from true center if you want some all around ability.  But I would agree that true center would be the best bet.

thanks for the answers.. seems like since i dont have dedicated pow ski, might be wise to mount slightly back then, i.e. +4.5cm - 5.5cm.....

go for core centre if you want park and all mountain performance
their traditional is super far back from true centre

+5 or +5.5 is safe if you want it to do everything. Much further forward and you will be fighting some gnarly tip dive because you'll have so much tail. We don't do the recommended position anymore because people were just too confused.

thanks so much your input which is really (i mean it) appreciated. i now instructed ski shop to mount +5 - with full confidence thanks to you guys... Now waiting to pick up my skis! will post how it is after a htting the slopes!

It is a good safe zone to be at. try them out in the park, try them in pow and crud and on steeps. You can always remount further forward. Enjoy.
