Yet another what should my export settings be at. (big file)

so I have a 25 minute long ski movie that I want to export in hd for vimeo.

i'm having trouble getting it to look good and stay under 500mb. Normally I don't do stuff this long haha.

Should I just buy a plus account?

my export settings for trying it were
quicktime
h.264
at 5000kbps

i tried lower and lower kbps but its still over and the quality has gone down to far for comfort.

You're going to have to lower the rates to get a lower file size, sorry to burst your bubble.

i lowered them (forgot to what) and came out at 600 something mb. but the picture looked like shit.

any other plan to get this to work or do i buy plus so i can upload bigger files.

well you could upload a non-hd version. youtube HD supports up to 1 gb if you wanted HD.

try windows media hd, you can get some good size files with it

if you upgrade vimeo you can hve up to 1gb file sizes

You're exporting at 720p not 1080p, right?

Oh and to the thread creator, even though you solved your problem, for future reference, just export with h.264 as the format, and change the encoding to vbr 2 pass, it makes the file alot smaller than quicktime .mov format

yo kid cuddie do u have Compressor?? cuz if you do you can just use the Quicktime h.264 setting and it will compress all ur shit. ya dig?

Or if u dont just export Non HD..

i keep 1080p videos on my laptop in wmv and they are smaller and easier to use than h264
