The 1st ever slopestyle comp is at our hill tomorrow... I dunno what the categories will be but I'm really hoping for a '17 and under' and an '18 and older' type thing going on like what they did for the skiercross and rail rodeo. Only thing is that it's a different sponsor so they'll probably have different age categories :(
Anyways, for that age group there'd be me, some dude from smithers that kills it on the rails, and NS member 'Hiram' who's really good on the rails but I haven't seen too much stuff of him in the air, I skied with him today.
Anyways, any pointers? Here's the setup:
First choice:
- Small Table
- Down-Rail
- Down-Box
Second Choice:
- Small Hip
- Up-Kink Rail
Third:
- a-frame rail
Fourth Choice:
- Choice of two tables
- Down-Flat-Down rail
Fifth:
- Tabletop (Showtime Booter type thing)
Sixth Choice:
- Big Hip
- Rainbow Rail
- Trapezoid Rail
I'm thinking for my run I'll hit the down-box, then hit the hip, then switch 180 the table (skip the a-frame), then 180 or 360 then 'showtime booter' and do something on the hip, but I don't know whether I should do one clean run and then 'put it all on the line' or do two clean, stylie runs.
For 'putting it all on the line' I was thinking of a switch 270 onto the down-box, gap the hip, switch 360 the table, 360 the showtime booter and air-to-fakie the hip, I dunno if I could do it clean though.
Any pointers from people who've competed before? I don't wanna end up getting 3/3.
