Whose Ski's Really Cost More Than There Car?

I was cleaning up my room, and in the bottom of my desk I found some NS "My skis cost more than this car" (as well as "I'd rather be skiing" etc). So I was wondering if anyone actually paid more for their skis than their car?

Mine do. I got a '91 Buick Regal, and my '07 Line Anthems cost more than that car.

Thule 400 System, was worth $410 when I bought it
Thule Spirit was worth $1000 when I bought it
I also had 2 echolon bike carriers each worth $220, but they were never on the same time as the box.

thanks for the post. i have my dads car hes only home every other weekend so i just say its my car works out pretty nice oh yeah 05 jeep commander great for skiing

Bought my 89 subadeath for $400, five years ago.  I tow my $6000 sled with it.

95 Isuzu Trooper that's just beat to shit on one side, has some engine problems, and a bent rim is probably worth far less than my invaders and chronics, and I'm buying new skis... so I'd say my skis are more expensive than my car.
