Sir Francis Bacon in park

so im looking at getting the some SFB's. Two questions what size (I'm 6' 2'' and 165, and yes i have realized that i am in fact skinny) and two, how will they handle in park. I ski probably 80% all mountain stuff and 20% park and am at an intermediate level in the park.

for size, go 182, 172 would be kind of small on you. I've never skied anything over a 100 waist in the park though so i can't really help you with that.

Ive been told by a very knowledgeable friend that bacons are one of the most fun skis out there, anywhere on the hill. Very versatile and playful, supposedly pretty light too (in comparison to a pair of say, K2 obSETHeds). Im planning on getting a pair for this season, 182s most likely. Pumped.

they'll be fun. fat skis are a blast in the park. just mount them close to center so they are well balanced.

I was lucky enough to borrow a pair for the week I was in CO and I LOVED them in the park. They killed it and they didn't feel that sluggish at all like you would think with a ski that wide in the park.

Oh and be sure to get the 182's. I am 5'9' 145 and the 182's slayed. I couldn't imagine skiing them much shorter.

I am in the same boat except I already have my bacons but haven't skied them yet...not to thread jack but I am going to get them remounted soon and I am almost positive they are at recommended right now but what would you guys suggest for a dude who would be using them for mostly pow days/charging...I really don't want to get them center mounted since I already have Anthems for park.

Rec would be good for you. When I was out in CO I skied about 80/20 and they were fine being mounted at recommended.

and yes get the 182s I am 6'2 and the 182 are about as long as my 178 anthems and I could not even comprehend skiing on anything shorter because they are just up to my nose.

im 5'10 145 lbs and skied my sfbs once in the park last year. they were great off jumps, not heavy and awkward at all and you can easily land with the wide base. On rails they were heavy and awkward, but what do you expect, they're 115 waist. overall they were pretty fun, but even more fun in the pow!

i have sir francis bacons
lets just say last year i got a pair of park skis and a pair of pow skis(sfb's), the only time i road my park skis was when my bindings on my sfb's broke and i had to warrantee them and it took two weeks. They do not feel big and bulky AT ALL. I love them sooo much, so much fun everywhere, I got them mounted at -3 from center and they can be a little prone to tip diving in like 3 feet of fresh, but i think that or -4 is an ideal mount, and recommended is -6 i believe. I am was like 6'0" and now im 6'3" 165ish and have 182's since it was the only size made, op definitely get 182's, they could not be any shorter than this, they already feel fairly short. and to the kid that is 6'2" and they are up to your nose, theyre up to my forehead and im taller than you....

if you want something that does absolutely everything, especially if your looking for a non rockered ski for some reason,even tho without rocker they still slay powder.
the only thing i would change would be some small tip and tail rocker, or "early rise" and to have them be like 186cm.

Yeah dude, get them. I had them last year, used them everyday. Perfect for pow, great for crud, and they were not too bad in the park either. and definitely get the 182.
