Whats all the hype on FKS's bindings???

what makes them such a good binding (look, or rossi fks)... i know they went for a period of time where they stopped production of them but why are they so popular and people make a big deal out of them??

has anyone tried swapping the brakes from the new fks heelp to the old heelp ?

could solve a lot of problems with botched brake bends from the old ones.

As everyone has said, they're amazing bindings.

The only thing that stopped me from considering them was the simple fact they'll run you quite a bit if you're buying them brand new. Obviously you get what you pay for, but for a lot of the people who wont need a 15 DIN or 18 DIN binding their money is better spent elsewhere.

but since this is alive again... i also ripped my heel piece out of a pair of corupt tj schillers...so far so good on my 11/12 chronics...

I personally disagree but to each his own. 

The 18 isn't just a higher DIN, it has 40% more elasticity in the toe fwiw.

in my experience, pullouts are more the fault of a shitty mount job/skis with shitty cores than the mount pattern of the heel piece.

ive had fks pull out twice when mounted by some one else but never when ive mounted them myself (5 pairs of skis)

They were on some armada halos...but armada is replacing them...ski shop said it "wasn't their fault" but they took care of everything so I'm not going to complain...and nuno I don't see what the problem is with reviving a conversation on a very popular set of bindings...but whatever

fuck whoever cares about you bumping this. I just wish rossi would let shops work on their bindings. this is my first season on good rossi bindings and i just this week have ran into an issue that will sideline my skis (due to a broken brake plate) for two weeks. haha i bumped a thread on this 3 hours ago

The pivot system is very healthy for the knees. The toe piece pivots too. So when you fall and your leg twists and needs to come out it does. Thus, the ski doesn't make your ligaments tear resulting in a season ending crash. I think people who don't know what they are talking about just say its good because pros use it and they think the bright orange color is cool.
