Fs switch up Fs 270 out help

after the switch up i just can't seem to get the lock down to pretzel out. Any suggestions ?

don't "fully" switch up. Instead of doing a full 180 switch up do kind of like a 120 (my angles are off, but you know what I mean)so your not completely perpendicular to the rail and keep your head / body facing down the rail.

Yup. And when you do the non full switch up, don't land flat footed, land with your new front foot already in the scissor position. It will help you stay locked on and not keep spinning so you can stop your rotation and toss it back the other way.

I'm not a master at it or anything, but basically just keep your head looking straight.  Also kinda keep your upper body straight looking down.  Then, like said, when you land it have that front ski already scissored, ready to pretzel that shit.

THISS. my 1st time thats what i did and the feeling after stomping it is so good that you'll try it over again and get the full on sw up later on, its all in locking your skis down, aka scissoring to get that last spin down maybe use your shoulders a bit more at 1st and turn your head towards where you wanna go and the rest will follow.

don't rotate your shoulders too much, unless you're going for blind 270. They should be ALMOST at the same angle as the rail. Other than that, what others said: Scissor and win.

do the front sw up and then try to grip the rail or whatever with the edge under the heel, then as you approach the end of the rail start your spin and pop

No, DON'T do this.

Not to hate on you at all man, but it looks dumb and it shows that you aren't in control enough to fully get the trick.

Fully get that switcup, a full 180. Then, you just have to get that edge pressure going on. When you are doing a switchup, it's easier to get the pressure by leaning over your leading foot (the foot you are pressuring). You probably do this without thinking about it. Then, you pivot around that foot, and you end up with more weight still on that foot (which after the switchup is your trailing foot. You gotta switch your weight more forward onto your new front foot.

I think he was just saying that to help him learn the basics. It seems like this might be one of the first pretzels the thread creator is trying and taking any shortcuts to get the feel and the hang of a trick is always really helpful. Obviously it is going to be more visually pleasing and have more steeze if you fully do the switch up which I agree 100% with you on that, but for just starting out I think it's okay for him to do it.
