Today, i got attacked by a pedal

So i was jumping a 8 set on my new cannondale chase, and my foot decided to leave the pedals behind and then spin around and hit my in the back of the thigh, i now have an imprint of my pedal on the back of my thigh, to make things worse, i hot the saddle balls first on landing. Why do i mtb?

I still have a purple scar in the shape of a perfect circle on my shin from getting whacked by a pedal... cant say its my favorite thing

^Your pic worked fine for me, so no fail

I rock the clipless pedals for DH and XC just because I have more control over the bike and it is far more efficient.  I would never rock the clipless for DJ-ing, for a lot of reasons.  Pedal bite is a part of it though, my friend used to get it all the time and he had some crazy grippy pedals, so it must have hurt pretty bad.

Grip is determined a lot by pedal shape, not the number of pins and such. My old pedals gave the nastiest pedal bite ever, but weren't as grippy as the ons I have now.

 worst is getting it in the shin or knee, dude i know had his pedal smoke him so hard in the knee that it broke his kneecap and left holes in his knee where the studs landed.

haha yea pedals in the shins hurt so much. So does knee to stem.

I ride straitline pedals on my stp now and havent slipped a pedal ever. So grippy but if you ever do slip i bet you need stiches.

the worst was metal pedals when all of my friends and I were going through the BMX phase. these kids built this gnarly track in the woods and i can remember how fucked up my shins got .

Yeah, I'm forgetting which pedals he had, but they were the Wellgo pedals in the shape of an X and they were super nice.

i've cut up my shin pretty badly on my metal pedals.
i just switched in some plastic ones so it's not as big of an issue.
although i have a pretty nasty scar from falling off a jump onto concrete.
i've decided to leave mtn biking to the crazies...

Get used to it. It happens to me everytime I go out riding, and I've wound up at the doctors more then a few times to have it cleaned out and stitched. Worst is 15 stitches so far. Wearing pads is a very good idea!
