"Sexy" Dinners haha

Well, a while back i posted a thread for help on making a good dinner for my parents and i was pretty happy with the help i got, so i'm looking for a bit more newshcoolers help on dinners.

I'm with this new girl, and she thinks the fact that i can cook... well... is, well, sexy. I want to get her to keep thinking this. She wants me to cook her dinner soon. What are some good dinners for a couple? What can i make that'll get her in bed with me? haha. plus k for real help

a full blown italian style dinner wouldn't be too bad of an idea. Make some bruschetta (If there is a Sam's club nearby they have excellent bruschetta spread).  Pasta then some chocolate mousse or something or the sort. The panties should come right off

but seriously italian recipes get the juices goin usually. Start with a fresh salad, then some pasta and red sauce with fresh or garlic bread. Easy on the garlic, this isn't a meal for you it's one that is most likely gonna be followed by some kissing. If ya wanna get really fancy try and make a fresh italian dessert like cannoli.

If you wanna try something new, rolling sushi is actually pretty easy. If you try it once beforehand to practice, you'll probably get the hang of it. And it's guaranteed that she'll be impressed.

plus k to both of you for the good advice... i've heard lots of good things about italtian dinners. i think i'll try to make a desert with mint in it for bad breath/ kissing purposes... same reason i tend to avoid garlic bread.

it'd also be nice to get some ns girls in here, tell us what makes them hot for dinner..?

No but for real, I would have to agree with an italian meal, make sure you do it in courses though cause its more impressive that way.

Or salmon on a cedar plank on the BBQ. Use a bunch of dill and lemon and onions on it while it cooks, so fuckin good and looks impressive.

what kind of food do you guys like? i'd recommend a good summer salad with fruit and nuts and stuff in it like this:

followed by some kind of easy pasta. you can buy really good creamy pesto mixes at the store for like $1, throw that over some pasta, chicken and veggies and its dank.

as for dessert, something i've had huge success with when it comes to "sexy" cooking is offering to make cookies together. get all the shit ready, and then after dinner while you digest, you make em up. spoon licking typically leads to, well...other stuff.

Roasted chicken and asparagus.

Shishkabob on the grill.

Baked salmon

Pork tenderloin - BBQ or Bake.

Make some sorta strawberry almond and mandarin spinach salad with olive oil and balsamic drizzle or a pear and goat cheese spinach salad (as the side.)

sorry for the double post, but another option, which i don't know if you have the stuff for, is fondue of some kind. in general, cooking things that are meant to share will lead you good places.

that being said, another thing that comes to mind is you could do homemade pizza. you can buy a premade crust or make your own. then each of you loads half with whatever you want and throw it in the oven. easy and delicious.

Go with a really light dessert...i suggest some dessert that relies heavily on foamed egg whites for volume. I got a kill chocolate mousse recipe if you want it and its super light and fluffy. And not all salads are boring, maybe a tomato salad with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing with fresh basil. As for for the main meal fish keeps most meals light. Go with a nice sockeye, coho or king salmon fillet that is pan seared and drizzled with lemon juice and seasoned with salt and pepper. And on the side sauteed peppers and other veggies. And don't forget don't over fill the plates(make sure you can still see a lot of the plate hahaha) less is better when it comes to eating like in a "fancy" restaurant. Hope that helps!

i was gonna suggest the same thing.

for the salad, i know of a really good one. use arugula and baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegarette, parmesan curls, walnuts, red onion, and maybe avocado. i make it all the time. really good.

pasta- maybe a light pesto. squeeze some lemon into it makes it really light. or maybe a light sage and lemon sauce. thats prettygood too.

don't know about the dessert. maybe a chocolate mousse with some kind of chocolate covered fruit? kinda cliche but still good.

The light pesto was a great idea. i never really feel "bloated" after eating pesto. i've given karma to everyone so far, ns people have the best advice ever. i really liked the idea of making desert with her, because that does seem like a direct gateway to getitng the pants off.

yeah definitely no huge pasta portion, i always feel heavy and sleepy from all the carbs. i say defnitely go for the salmon. it's fresh and light, and definitely less messy than red sauce.

that salad up there looks damn good too, you could go for a summery theme. salmon with a side of rice, and vegetable if you don't wanna do the salad.

for salmon i use olive oil and a little butter, salt, pepper, dill weed, and a squirt of lemon. wrap that sucker up and grill it, or bake at 350. so simple and soooo good.

what kind of vegetables do you serve with your salmon? something summery as well? i'm stuck between salmon and pesto. maybe a salmon/ light pasta side combo? work vegies in there too?

A classic side for salmon is for sure white rice. You could add a little something to the rice by mixing in some pan seared or sauteed peppers, fresh diced tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, herbs, asparagus that is blanched, mango. Just dont do all of those together haha

Asparagus is really good with salmon, do it on the bbq too. Or you could grill Bell peppers on it too. As you can tell im all about bbq. Actually, on the note of bell peppers, do a stuffed pepper thing maybe, i have never done it but i think crab might go well in some stuffing for a pepper. Shit, im so hungry now.

if you wanted to make a light pasta salad to go with the salmon, my personal favorite is rigatoni, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, strawberries, basil (or mint if you're feeling adventurous), and then a balsamic vinaigrette, all mixed up and served chilled. i think this, as an intro to the baked salmon would be dank. then you've worked the basil and pasta in, which leaves no reason to force the pesto.

hmm i can dig the salmon with a side of pesto combo that's pretty decent.
and as for veggies if you dont go for the salad it's not sexy but green beans go pretty well with that..

and to paskiingsucks, you never know what could happen. red sauce is scary in a girls eyes if she's out.

Grilled peppers and asparagus would be great with grilled salmon and rice. I would just drizzle the rice with some salad dressing to keep the meal from being so dry. Just if you grill make sure you oil up the grill so the salmon doesnt stick or cook it on top a piece of aluminum foil.

so as of now i'm thinking light salmon, asparagus and white rice. as for mix-ins with the white rice, mango...? it's good? that sounds good, but i dunno with salmon and asparagus.

also, i really want to make desert with her now. whats the fastest, easiest desert to make? anyone know a good one? cookies sounded good. if not, i could make crem brulee which i'm pretty decent at anyways.

get a salmon fillet and coat the skin side in a layer of butter and sear it in a skillet for 7-8 minutes with the skin side down for 3/4 of the cooking time, it is a quick way to make the dankest most tasty salmon ever, way better than baked or grilled or any of that shit, then saute asparagus in butter and make some fancy lookin salad and you are good to go

I disagree with that statement, i have paid over $50 a pound for ravioli in Europe. True they had truffles and other expensive stuff in the filling, but it was still pasta.

Creme brulee sounds like an excellent idea for dessert, especially if you already can make it well. As do you have one of those awesome torch things to caramelize the sugar on top? Cause if you do you could do that together with your girlfriend.
Plus creme brulee is a pretty "sexy" dessert

For sure, go with a white wine, its light and summery. And white wine goes great with fish and rice :) plus being slightly tipsy doesnt hurt with your plans after dinner haha

Truffles in europe are cheaper, plus it depends on what truffle. I think you are thinking about white truffles because they are extremely rare and taste the best.

Just for clarification, we're not talkin' "chocolate truffles." We're talkin' about fungal fruiting body that develops underground and relies on mycophagy for spore dispersal. Almost all truffles are ectomycorrhizal and are therefore usually found in close association with trees..France is famous for them.

and they grow underground and dogs are trained to sniff them out, which is pretty sweet, i'd wanna move to france and get a truffle hunting dog and go truffle hunting for my job, how sweet would that be you just roam around in the woods with a dog digging up precious fungi, it would be like finding treasure every time you found a truffle
