it may not be the best ever, but when i saw the watchmen the other day, i was underwhelmed by the movie except for the fantastic soundtrack. the music is all good by itself, but it went with the movie so well i was more interested in what song came with the next scene than i was about the movie itself.

another good one (beside the life aquatic and almost famous) is this is spinal tap.

ONCE (they were awarded an oscar and an emmy i believe)
its a great original soundtrack

some others

across the universe, which if you dont know of it, its a story/musical taking place during vietnam, and it take 15 or so beatles songs and organizes them into a story, its phenomenal

and another, which i dont care if i get hated, is romeo and juliet, if you get the 10th an. edition it has some sick remixes in it as well

almost famous is sick as well

yeah whoever said watchmen, i just saw that and the music was awesome. the all along the watchtower scene was dope, the music worked so well in an unexpected way

i like the super troopers soundtrack haha, and also dumb and dumber probably can't be beaten

I just downloaded the soundtrack to this, it's pretty mellow. I like it a lot.

And, although it's already been said, the soundtrack to Notorious can't be beat.

Lisa Gerrard and Hans Zimmer wrote that song, not Enya.  In fact, there is no Enya in the whole movie.

thank you. I was going to say that, as it is a common misconception.

Anyway, I was going to say I have a thing for gladiator soundtrack. I listen to it way toooo much, especially on the drive to ski. Am I not merciful just gets me so unbelievable calm its crazy.

There are some incredible selections from LOTR complete recordings.

braveheart is solid. I listen to that way too much.
