Apple is the shit

Two weeks ago i found to my dismay that my logic board was broken in my macbook pro. I dont know how it happened but after a few calls to apple it seemed like i was about to drop a grand to either fix my computer or get a new one. Needless to say i was not stoked.

Fast forward to last week. I made a few more phone calls basically begging apple to help me out. I finally talk to someone who realizes that my computer's logic board has a recall on it and that he'll send me a box to ship it to them in. 2 days later the box is in my house. I pack it up and ship it out. 48 hours later fedex rolls up to my house and drops off my computer. inside the box is a repair list that read something like this:
"logic board-broken. replaced.
battery-does not charge. replaced.
optical drive-does not accept media. replaced."
i couldnt believe it. Apple basically hooked me up with about $1300 worth of shit for free. i'm so pumped.


sparknotes: apple hooked me up and saved my ever-declining bank account from a giant loss.

i was over a year out of warranty

well the one or two times i sent my dell back, they ALWAYS replaced the battery, no matter what

i fail to see how this makes them the shit. they massed produced shitty hardware had a recall, and you had to go through the hassle of shipping your shit in. maybe they should of got it right before it hit mass production.

word, and on top of that you paid twice as much for that shitty hardware. Doesn't seem that awesome to me, pretty much any company would do that for you. Sounds like you got screwed

i might have to try this. i think my logic board is still working but my battery doesn't charge nor does it accept cd's/dvd's.

not being a hater, but it seems that people have to talk to apple customer support quite often. clearly they have good support, but so many using support = not so good

Similar story:

My 3 yr warrentee ran out on my macbook this week so last week i called them to see if they could fix somethings that have been problemsome. They overnighted a box which i then sent back out. 51 hours later it was on my door step... all fixed. Thats pretty legit if I must say. Granted I had to use the extended warrentee 3 times during that 3 year period but i don't think that's all that bad considering its a laptop. Shit happens, shit breaks.

The one thing that did piss me off during those 3 years was that my hard drive completely crashed which was something I've never encountered working with a PC... but I guess i'll take the good with the bad. All in all I would def buy another mac... but i would also buy a PC. After being on the phone with both Dell and Apple for an average of 4 hours this past week I will def give the customer support edge to Apple.

hard drive failures ≠ any operating systems' fault (unless you really manage to fuck your shit up, but you have to be working for it)
