do people ever give you shit or make fun of you for talking about skiing?

i feel like this happens to me a lot, when me and my friend like... see dope handrails and point it out to other skier friends of mine. or talk about places we wanna go on trips next year or shit like that.
But i end up getting an earful from people for "being so obsessed with skiing".

my girlfriend this past winter said i skied to much.

she gave me the ultimatum in mid january that i needed to stop skiing as much and start seeing her more often.

i hang around 3 people that i ski with (and am better than) and 2 out of those 3 call me a ''no-life'' and a ''nerd'' because i talk about skiing in the summer. they're also hatin because i want to spend all my money on a Windells session instead of a car. well see whos gonna be happier in life...

In the summer months, pretty much the entirety of the UK moves en masse to Spain and Greece, where they take over the resorts, and cause much consternation. People think I'm joking when I tell them I'm going to spend the Summer skiing. Not liking sitting on beaches for the entire day is seen as something of a mental retardation over here. And so be it.

Everyone deals with this. I get it so often it's not even funny. Whether it's saying that I wish I could move to Chile in the summer or the (awesome) parties that I throw -- which usually involve some sort of pineapple effigy -- they're always giving me crap about loving snow and skiing.

Yeah, everyone I know rags on me for it.  I'll see a friend and say something like "what's up".  He'll say, "not much, how bout you?"  I'll start to answer, and he'll cut me off.  "by the way, if it's skiing... don't tell me."

About half the time, I don't tell him.

One of my friends is particularly funny.  He does great impressions, and can always come up with a funnier line than his last.  However, I'm never the victim of creative impressions.  Mine's always the same:  "Hey guess what?  Skiing... YAY!!"

It's very true, albeit somewhat monotonous.

Me and my friend are the only skiers in school. I'm told i talk about skiing too much. I recently just had to deal with my friend ranting on last night about how skiing isnt a sport and isnt cool. She can think what she wants but i dont give a fuck.
