I have to go tonight to lowes to get nails and screws for my box so i was wondering is there a need for a coping on the sides of the Hdpe? and also how do you get the screws in, do you just screw them through the top or what? and also im in the build a jib cult so you cant say go to that
it's never a bad idea to make a coping, but the steel you would have to use is super expensive (90* steel is like $25 for an 8ft piece), so its not really worth it...it basically just protects the edges of the HDPE because it is soft and will get shredded up after some 270s off...i have had my box with no coping on it for 1.5 years with no problems so dont worry....to screw the HDPE down you need to countersink the screws(make a small "indentation" in the HDPE that the screws with fit in)....you can do this with an actual countersink drill bit, or with a bit the same diameter as the head of your screws....you dont drill all the way through; just enough so the screws fit flush or a little under the HDPE
