how do you use a desktop (mac) as a screen for your laptop (macbook)?

i have software on my macbook but my dad has a 24 inch mac desktop. can i use the desktop as a bigger screen but run my laptop on it.

sorry i cant word things correctly

Depending on the version of macbook, you'll need an adapter for it that allows you to connect the macbook to the iMac via an AVI cord. From there you can use two screens or just the iMacs. For step by step and the exact parts you'll need google is probably your best friend.

You can get them at BestBuy no problem. I don't know if the iMac has an AVI port but it should.. might want to check.

and ive never heard of an avi cord so its either something weird or you mean dvi
