....had one until someone stole it at a basketball game i was at. but it was the best ipod i ever owned. now im stuck with a classic.

My friend hit a tree last season and his classic took the brunt of the impact. It dented the back in kinda widespread with a small deeper indent the size of a pencil lead. the laminate cracked on the bottom right corner. It still palys the same with no issues. other than screen damage their pretty tough. I use my classic when I dont want to bring the touch along. So I understand your reasoning. (btw I have an old 30g  video clasic which is scratched to shit nothing to be proud of)

i took a fall on my classic this past winter cracked the screen all to hell but i still used it everyday and eventually all the damage went away and now u could never tell anything happened, i even took it to apple and they said its toast, it was weird

i have a 40 gig 3rd gen, my first gen crapped out on me.. still think the 3rd gen design is the best.

minis are tanks too.

i was freebording, and it flew out of my pocket on a handslide. bounced and rolled a ways, ricocheted off a rock and landed in the ditch. only had a few scratches and a small dent on the side. and still works like a champ to this day.

I know it's not a first gen ipod, but i have the first gen nano still. I guess it's pretty old considering the amount of new designs they have done for it. The battery doesn't last long and it freezes if i step off a curb.

I know one thing i'm not skiing with next season. The shuffle on the other hand, best thing ever for skiing.

yeah, i ski with my shuffle. the battery would last about 2 seconds on my tank haha

haha i remember the first person i knew who got an ipod and i was in grade ten i think. like 8 years ago and he paid like 600$ and it was a deal!

Got a 1rst gen Nano, 4th gen Nano and a 1rst gen Touch.. Got to say the 1rst gen Touch jailbroken is a real winner

Right now I have a 5G 30gb iPod, but I've gone through a lot getting here.

3 3G 20GB's (only bought one, the hard drive went out and I got new one's on warranty)
1 2GB 1st gen nano - still works, I just borrowed it from my sister
2 1st gen minis - got one for christmas and the screen cracked, so i replaced it with one from one with a broken hard drive

1 8GB 2nd gen nano - got it for my birthday, and I'm pretty sure the guys renovating my house stole it.

1 30GB zune - bought from a friend for $40 - headphone jack was weird and the left side would only have high sometimes

1 2GB 2nd gen shuffle - Got it for skiing and cause I had nothing else, still works fine other than the sping clip being broken

2 5G 30GB videos - First one I got from a friend for free and it had a broken hard drive, I used the HD out of the Zune and put it in. That hard drive broke, so I put a HD from my friends 5G 30GB that had a fried logic board. and swapped the clickwheel so it's stormtroopin like a badass

wondering what you guys think i could get out of my old school 4th gen ipod. after years i'm finally upgrading to an 80 gig classic i;m getting from my buddy for cheap.
