It works pretty well. You can load it up with multiple HD graphics cards, extremely fast processor, and up to 32 gigs of ram (not really needed). I run it on 8 gigs and really dont have any problems unless im working on some obnoxiously large motion or AE file.
There really is not anything else that you need and the speed everything renders and compresses and how much you can render at once is amazing.
If your just using final cut and not really the other programs all at once you really dont need a Mac Pro. It comes in handy when your integrating multiple programs.
If you are getting into graphics as well I would recommend getting your hands on After Effects. I used motion for years and have just began to learn After Effects and really feel that its pretty far beyond Motion at the moment.
