So i blew my knee out at the end of march and finally got to see the docs at TOSH in SLC first week of April. Great guys, did a bunch of tests to determine any broken bones and thankfully nothing. They wanted an MRI just to double check and after that, no ACL, MCL, LCL, or miniscus tear. That was a huge weight off my shoulders. The bad news is that I tore my Pateller Retinaculum tendon. Now the doc said to do what I feel comfortable with on it. That was on April 6th. For about two weeks I iced it, had it wrapped, and was walking almost fine.
Its now May 5th, and I've been off the wrap for about 2 weeks. Problem is that its still semi swollen and walking on it is fine, but a slight jog, out of the question. Now originally the doc said about 4-6 weeks till I would be back in action, but its pushing that 6th week and i feel that I still have a long road to recovery. Ive currently been icing it, resting, with moderate use throughout the day.
Sorry to spill my story, but just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this tear and if they have, what was the recovery like and how long till you were back in full swing. Any help on this would be a huge help. Thanks
