Rocker Ski Advantages in the Park?

Does anybody know of the advantages of using a rocker ski in the park?

If you're switching up on kinked rails, or doing 2's onto down rails, then there is less chance of catching a tip or tail.

a reverse camber ski would be beneficial in the park. rockered skis have somewhat of a pivot point in the ski, kind of like flat tires... . if there was a really flexible, reversed camber ski, you would have whats on the current snowboard market. a consistantly flexible ski with super pop in the nose and tail. technology is trying to keep up with us, but right now there is the thall that is sick, and i guess the afterbangs are good.

YES!!!!!!!  I ride rockered skis almost everyday I ride park.  Everything is pretty much better on rockers. You can butter off everything, you very rarely catch your edges doing switch ups, you dont really catch taking off switch.  its easy to revert from switch to forward.  Pretty much just a really fun ski to be on.

The only downfall is hitting big jumps, and by that I mean hitting a park jump thats over like 65-70 the skis tend to shimmy under foot which is sketchy going fast into a big jump.  You pretty much have to stay on edge.

rockered have a section of traditional camber or (0 camber) underfoot and switch to reverse camber on the way to the tips and tails.  Let's you ski pow skis on groomers.

reverse camber are like waterskis.  reverse camber all the way through.  powder specific.  Watch Shane slide sideways in pow in Focused.

First, rocker and reverse camber are the same thing.
Second, after a year with rockered skis, I personally don't like rocker anywhere but powder. There are some nice parts in the park, as mentioned above, but to me it didn't make it worth it. Not a fan.

first, your an idiot...
second, no, rockered and reverse camber are not the same. a rockered ski can have camber, the rocker is noticed when the camber is compressed under the weight of the rider. a reverse camber ski has absolutely no camber, banana shaped if you will

yes butter spins are easier and so are rails with reversed camber and rockered skis but they make washing out on larger jumps easier

I think our dear mister Deane was skiing on some plank prototypes early this season, did he switch to reno rocker, I dotn know.

I just spent the last 2.5 weeks skiing park on rockered skis, and they worked great. Butters are easier, and can be "delayed" or "stalled," if you will. Another huge advantage is that it is MUCH harder to catch on switch takeoffs. I was able to do bigger spins off smaller hits (and we all know how fun it is to spin switch 9s off three foot jumps!)

There are only two cons from my experience. One, being that hitting huge tables is scary as hell, since the shorter contact length isn't optimal for high speed/high consequence jumps. Two, (and this depends on the model) is that carving is more difficult. Some rockered skis have the right shape underfoot where carving is a breeze, whereas others...not so much.
