just got my 189 LL2s! super stoked on them, but now i need help on mounting. i was thinking -1.5 from true. these will be used in some park, and -15 inches of pow. some switch in pow, lots of switch on groomers. im 6'2" 145 lbs, and these will be mounted for a 317bsl spk pro with marker comp 20s
Bump I would like to know too, made a thread months ago and Eveyone told me Dead Center. I'm really not sure about it. I have Same size and description.
^yup because thats where theyre the most fun at. Mine are dead center, you have to hand measure it but after skiing them alot i wouldnt want mine mounted back at all. The tip rocker makes up for it, no way youre gonna dive in powder, and switch they are a dream...
I have some Caylors which are a similar ski mounted at -2.5 and I like it there. I haven't tried them anywhere else, I have tried Hellbents at -1 and noticed a very small difference. You will be fine just about anywhere from center to -3. The 3 cm of difference wont be that much of a difference.
^very true. I was just gonna add that the farther you mount back, or toward recommended, you will only increase the efficiency of the ski in powder and make it work more like it was designed to, so no harm done.
if i had those id go dead center, same with any rockered ski eg. bents pros etc.
but especially with those because of the 3 stage rocker, i think it would keep your tips up real nice
also im gunna say it first but marker comp 20's. Im sure theyll hold you in fine at 145 with a 20 din but will you come out fine with those, or is the markers(cept jester) suck a myth?
i have been racing on markers for years, never once have i had a problem with them. but atm it looks like im putting my fks 185 squads on them, due to not wanting to bent the breaks on the markers
I recently just asked the same question to Rob at Surface and his response was:
As for mounting Mike and I both mounted our LL2's back from
center (2-3cm) as did a few of our athletes. If you plan to use the
ski as an all mtn ski that's my recommendation, if you plan to do a
lot of park/ slopestyle stuff and do a lot of switch then center is
probably a better way to go. The same recommendations go for the LL's.
