Hey guys im looking into a mac. I was just wondering if you think its work it to spend the extra 1k+ for a pro over the regular macbook

naw, just get the macbook, you can always buy the upgrades later if you decide you really need em.

If you are getting this for college, I would invest in a MBP; because the extra computing power will comfortably carry you through school.  The screen is significantly bigger as well, along with the other upgraded parts of the machine.

In my opinion; you get what you pay for, and if you can afford to pay more, you should go for it.

I just read your latest post, and if you want to play games, you will definitely be happier with a bigger screen and better graphics options.  Video editing will be substantially improved as well.  Go for the MBP.

If you plan on doing any video and photo work definitely get the MBP. And get the 17" one too. You have no idea how horrible trying to use Final Cut on a 13" screen is.

It depends on what u plan on using it for and how much, if youre going to be doing alot of work on it get the pro but if its just for enjoyment then get macbook, i hve just a macbook which im happy w/ but it leaves u wanting more

get a powerful macbook with an external hd monitor, not necessarily one by apple but you can get a 1080p hd tv/monitor for like 400 bucks and hook that up to your macbook
that way you'll have the small size advantage of the macbook but for photo and gaming you can play on the monitor

i have a macbook with a 22" monitor and it's perfect

regular macbooks have decent graphics cards now. macbook + monitor is the economical way to go. plus when your macbook gets outdated, you can still keep the monitor for your next computer.

the aluminum macbooks are probably good enough for what you need. plus you can add more ram or a new hard drive anytime.

macbook pro FTW, I got one and couldn't have been happier.

With my educational discount I got a free touch when the first came out and a free printer. So see if you can find someone that goes to college to get it for you.
