i did that and ill never go back
I'm a snowboarder, and always will be. I"m just about the lone snowboarder left though, most of the people at my hill are falling to the peer pressure and starting to ski. But I ski 5-10 times a year for fun. It's something else to do and a way to challenge myself as a noob again. But I think snowboarding is still more fun. So much more you can do on rails with presses and stuff. The cool thing is, I understand the difficulty of your tricks and can appreciate them. And yes, I do enjoy watching ski movies.
And as far as strapping in at the lift. You all must ride with some uncoordinated people. I can get off the lift and be strapped in within one chair. Guess that's a learned skill when you ride with skiers though.
Of course it all depends on style, but in my opinion snowboarders look better on rails. This is assuming that each person is the same skill level. I'm not a big fan of the "how many switchups can I do in 10' of rail" trend that's happening now. It's not very often that you see a skier press on a rail, and it can look rad when they do. I'm much wrather see a snowboarder nosepress through a kink or something.
As far as jumps, again, it all depends on skill/style. But in general, I think skiers look better in the air.
i believe teh same thing. skiers look coller in air and snowbaorders look cooler on rails(presses, just watch a video of simon chamberlain snowbaording)
teh one thing about snowbaording- if there was a snowbaording newschoolers it wouldn't be half as good as what ns is
^^^ Which is exactly why I"m NS and not Snowboard.com right now.
And I agree Jimmy, just sliding rails straight is boring. I'd be like me 50-50ing rails all day long. It would get boring. But WATCHING skiers on rails isn't as fun. I'll give them credit though, the bigger spins on and off are cool. I'm not sure I"ve ever seen a boarder do a clean 6 off, if at all.
As far as boarders to watch, I'm not a fan of Magoon at all. Everything he does looks the same. Watch Simon Chamberlain, Joe Sexton, or Jed Anderson. Or any of the Think Thank crew.
