Cruise ship JOB

Alright so this company i applied for a job on their cruise ship but they didnt need students so they sent my cv to this other company called oceana international who emailed saying that for 200$ they would send my cv out to 30 cruise ship companies and if i didnt get a job within 3 months i woudl get my money back think its legit ?

sparknotes: company for $200 would send my cv out to all these cruise ship companies and almost guarantee a hire legit?

Get a job on a merhcant ship, serious so much more legit, bigger rooms, more facilities for the crew, just longer periods away.

actually, its a lot harder to get on ships than you think. You must these qualifications first:
Basic firefighting course
1st aid
Fitness certificate

Thats just for ordinairy seaman.

And for the guy that is scared about pirates, thats only international shipping. The hot spots are the carribian (sp?) Philipine Islands, coast of Somalia and the indian gulf.

I did some stuff like that (not for a cruise ship) and like a month later I was -500 in my account, they took $4000 from me.  I had to fight it and it took like three weeks to get it back.  I will never do that again.  I say the best thing to do is do the foot work yourself, go to every website and apply yourself.

Im just going through a cadetship course with a shipping company, already got it lined up, just need to finalise it. It all depends on what your in for though, im going for deck officer. I guess cruise ships are easy to get on, you could be a waitor or something i suppose, but im guessing with this current recession alot of people are applying, not many getting through.

its nice to hear people are still wanting to work on ships. Im done my 3 year program to become a marine engineer tomorrow.
Im sure anyone on payroll has to have this minimum. Commercial ships are so much easier to get jobs...not in the economic turmoil. I should be sailing in June as a licenced engineer.

there are tons of companies like this who offer cruise ship jobs. they're all just  basically going to take your money. don't fall into it.

If you want to get hired by a cruise line, contact the cruise line companies straight up!

ohh i don't see that post lasting too long.

anyways. Working on any ship is a huge commitment. We've talked with cruise workers before, and they are gone for about half the year working. And strangely enough, i've never met an american crew member on a cruise ship....

dont take this, im gonna assume youve been on a cruise, but they pay less then minimal wage, and for the lesser party you work 18 hour days, the works only worth it for the foreigners cause they come from what is close to 2nd world countries, as a last resort do this, cause it wont be like being on a cruise it will be as if you were a bell hop at a hotel and basically suck, imo
