POC, it's mad expensive but probably one of the safest helmets out there. I personally think it is the safest. Giro and Smith also make some solid shit. And you've also got Bern that make some pretty cool lookin' lids. There are lots and lots of options.

I wouldn't recommend R.E.D though, I got one and within like 3 months it packed out like mad and now it doesn't fit at all and I have to rock a steezy bandanna underneath just so it doesn't wobble when I shake my head. I've heard that this has also happened to lots of other people I know, so keep that in mind.

well my R.E.D is perfect but I always rock a beanie under so if you ski with a beanie I guess that you'll be fine...

yeah, it all depends on what you want out of your helmet. I personally like having my helmet be my hat and head protection in one, without the use of a beanie to make it fit... Having that layer in between kind of makes me nervous but, to each his own.
I would suggest, if you can, go to your local shop and try some different shit out find what you like and purchase.

if you want to be unique I would say Capix. They started out as a small snowboard helmet company and now after being bought by a bigger company( forgot which one) they have more models that are more skier and look realy good. I have a capix and its very solid helmet, super light and they have tonnes of models coming out next year ( its the company relaunche next year) thats why you cant find any right now

Don't want to hijack thread but, according to website, all the helmets can be used in summer and winter for different sports? Is this done by just taking the pads away? And could I use this for MTB?

i went to the store to buy a new helmet yesterday and the girl there said that if you where a hat underneath it isnt safe. and a capix helmet is like wearing a plastice bowl on your head.

Check out Capix.  I spoke with them at SIA, pretty cool helmets at low cost.  I think I'm gonna get a team order going for Sick Stickz.
