TONIGHT ONLY! 7:00pm. If you are in Whistler or within driving distance, you absolutely need to make your way to Dusty’s BBQ in Creekside tonight at 7pm, as your fellow ski brethren toast the life and times of the one and only Shane McConkey. This is no ordinary tribute however, pillage your closet and come decked out in your best Saucer Boy outfit. Whomever dresses and plays the part the best, walks home with a pair of Shane’s brainchild, the K2 Pontoons. Get out and make some turns today and then get your ass over to Dusty’s tonight to celebrate all McConkey has done for our sport. Admission is only by donation to his wife Sherry and young daughter Ayla. So come donate to a very worthwhile cause , hang with your friends, drink some beers and remember one of the most unique and influencial individuals to ever put skis on his feet. Saucer Boy was a character he created in jest. Shane was such a comedian and fun-loving guy, you know he wouldn't want people standing around and moping in there beers, I can say with confidence he would much rather have people laughing and smiling remembering him and his contributions to what we all love and dedicate most of our lives too. I understand where you are coming from with your apprehension, but I don't think he would want it any other way.
