Olympics - Skier Cross Vs. Halfpipe

Nothing against skier cross, prolly one of the funnest things you can compete in, but i would really rather see ski half/super pipe in the olympics instead

well newschoolers would obviously rather see half pipe, but the general public would rather see skiercross.

i dont know about that. if i didnt ski i would think pipe is more appealing because of the tricks

Why is there snowboard pipe but not skiing pipe? I know the general public thinks that snowboarding is more "extreme" But if you like at a snowboard run versus a skiing pipe run you can see that the ski run will have more amplitude and more technical tricks.

Personally I love watching skier cross, but the Olympics already have enough ski racing. Between Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G there is plenty of racing. And if a skier cross guy wants to compete in the olympics pull a Jon, and start skiing Super G. Also, there is already snowboarding pipe in the Olympics so it only seems fair that skiers should get a crack at the pipe they build for the Olympics anyways.

i was at Cypress tonight and I can't believe the Olympics are going to be held there.  Its not any better than my mountain in NM.  I'm not even hating, it shocked me.

Ski Halfpipe would be sick but I think the Olympic people think the general public thinks skiings not a freestyle sport

The reason pipe has not been added is because there is already 8 skiing events in the olympics yet there is only 3 or 4 snowboard events. I hope that they can get it in to the 2014 olympics because it would be awesome to see, but at this stage thats why it hasnt been added.

not to be a dick but we spoke a lot about it and there is one reason that pipe is not at the olympiq yet and that reason is that the level of girls is not high enough compare to snowbaord girls

i know ill get karma raped for this post...

but the main reason i think is just because freestyle skiing (and boarding for that matter) really isnt an olympic-type sport... we have the x-games... and racers and whatnot have the olympics. freestyle skiings just not really in the spirits of the olympics if you get what i mean...
granted it would be sick to see it in there, but i think thats part of the reason why...

one of the biggest reasons that they havent put halfpipe in the olympics is that skiing already has so many disciplines. take all the racing ones, then all cross county and freestyle events. thats more events than pretty much any other sport.
