Mounting Line Blends

used the search bar but didn't find anything helpful.

let me know if any of you have any recommendations for this. just got my 178 '09 pair and i'll be using them as my 1 ski quiver. not a huge park skier but i'll take a few laps when the snow is shitty, like to ride everything else. really looking for a mounting point that could handle anything you throw at it... my stats: 5'8 190lbs, agressive. please, preferably just 1st hand experience posts. thanks!

I've been skiing 1080 foils for the past few seasons and they are similar in purpose to the blends, so not exactly your situation, but based on what you intend to ski it won't hurt to move back a bit. I mounted them foils back quite a bit from true center and it hasn't really hurt me in the park at all, but i was able to tear up any part of the mountain with total confidence. Basically, don't worry about a center mounting fad if you don't plan on much park because they aren't even symmetrics, so mount 'em -5 or around there and enjoy them to death whereever you go.

I love my blends, use them for everything. buying some next year since i've skied them out.

I have the 183cms, mounted at reccomended and perfect for me. I ski Big mountain, so cliffs, pow and junk like that. I'm 185cm, and 170lbs.

So, for next years blends, im mounting them at reccomended again. I suggest the same

recommended huh? i'd normally wouldnt be asking about where to mount but since this will be my only ski.. i def dont wanna get stuck with a limited performance mount. need to get a lil bit of park done and some switch riding as well... so 8 back since too far back.. i dunno

yea, i thought i was screwed with the reccomended. but I found it was perfect, still can do amazing switch skiing manouvers, i don't do any rails. but jumps are perfect. my second idea when mounting them was to put them just a bit forward to center from reccomended.

The nose:tail ratio on the reccomended isnt as bad as you think. Im looking at them now and yea, it works.
I'll stop trying to sell my mounting point though

Well the recommended mount is -3 but I decided to get -2 and I'm glad I did because I ski a lot of park but I ski a lot of big mountain to and it's perfect so I would suggest between true center and -3.

mine are on the line, perfect for the type of skiing you say you're gonna do (park occasionally).  but i'm in the park pretty much exclusively these days, still fine but would obviously be more fun moved up a little bit, no sense of remounting since i'm buying a park specific ski next season,

Mount them at recommended. I ski very little park, but will venture in there occasionally and I love my blends mounted at recommended. There is still enough tail to ski switch well enough, but still enough of the front of the ski to keep the tip up in some pow.

any of you guys out there mounted at 2 o 3 cm up from recommended? heard it's a super versatile mounting point for blends...

I put mine(179cm) about 2.5cm up from the recommended.  They are a really great ride all-over and ride switch very well.  Hit just about everything but rails with them.  My only complaint is that the length and stiffness gave me a little too much tail.  I'm 5'9" and 145lbs.

In hindsight, I would have liked them better at recommended or in a shorter length or with a softer flex or if I was taller or if I was heavier.

Might not be a problem for you depending on your preferences.  If you're heavier, than you're also stronger so the 2 or 3 cm up might be the sweet spot.  For me, it felt just a bit forward of the spot I wanted.

thanks for the helpful posts guys.. +k , leaning towards 2 or 3 up from recommended.. or at recommended .. i'm an old dog now so i'm won't be doing much park anyways... probably gonna have to rely on feel on this one, so i'll have to wait until they get here (friday) so i can measure them up properly.

anyone else have some input on this?

looks like you're giving this a lot of thought, that's how i like to do things too though.  at 5'8" and with a 178cm ski you can't go wrong mounting it +2or3 in front of recommended, you'll still have plenty of ski in front.  i guess also consider how much time you'll spend in the glades, i've had to remount and move forward a pair of my old skiis just because they were a cunt in tight trees.  so when i bought my blends i went down a size,

Honestly,

i just mounted my first skis centered, and its been great for me, i really dont see a huge difference besides switch is better.  The only thing it is a pain if your like on moguls and on slushy snow.

Center helps with rails and with spining, even though it sounds like its too much; i recomend mounting at center
