Yeah I know someone who had his leg blown off in Northern Ireland by the IRA but I don't know anyone who's been blown up by a Muslim.

I was on the plane that was going to get hit with the bomb that made it so you can't bring liquids or toothpaste on anymore though.  Glad they caught those guys it was 50% chance going to be my flight from London to Los Angeles.

Lets keep this discussion in the here and now.  A mere 19 months into the new millennium Muslim terrorist killed a lot of people in NYC,  and they have had a good monopoly on the crimes committed in the name of religion since 2000.  There has been an upsurge in extremism.   Forget Stalin, forget the Crusades and the Inquisition.  Face the facts,  if you were to rank the Abrahamic religions in terms of violent messages Islam would have to come first and in todays world its crazy followers are causing a disproportionate amount of human suffering.  I do not judge all Muslim by one action,  but multiply that action several hundred times and my tolerance begins to fade.  Good people commit no evil, I do not care about them, but all it takes is one evil guy and he can cause some serious damage.  What is more the moderates pretend that Islam does not have a violent streak,  THIS IS NOT so.  Even Christianity has many violent and crazy passages, but the adherence to these messages is next to nothing compared to its Middle Eastern cousin.  People often say that extreme Muslims make up 1 percent of the total population,  will someone please tell me what one percent of a billion people is?  There was a time when Arabic and Early Islamic culture was vibrant and productive, but for the past few hundred years it is a retrograde, stifling system of civilization.  It should not be condoned, protected, or free of criticism.   Thats all I have to say.

Hmmm. Stalin was an atheist and killed clergy in an effort to make a secular nation. Robbespierre(a deist but  deism was the intellectual metaphysical philosophy of the day) killed many in the reign of terror. Doesn't mean there aren't any good non religious people. Mother Teresa was  a good atheist, Thomas Paine was a crusader of freedom and a deist. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet both give tons of money and they are atheists/non religious( I don't think they are self declared atheists because titles are pretty fucking lame anyways)

There are good people and bad people from all races, religions, and creeds.

No, you dont understand the issue.

Fundamentalist movements in the Middle East needed a convenient way to deliver their anti-western and anti-foreigner policy among their countrymen. What they found was a population that steadfastly believed in a scripture with many different interpretations, based on how one views it (same can be said for any religious text really, but I digress). They took the message of Islam and twisted it to meet their needs. The suicide bombers and hijackers that you all know and fear are certainly acting by what their religion has told them, but you have to understand that though they claim it as Islam, it is not. Muslims around the world would agree with me here.

What there has been an upsurge in is foreign involvement and manipulation in unstable regions, which has bred anti-foreign sentiment. The best way to project this has been religion. You are seeing the face of the monster, not the body.

No matter what you belive in, there well always be someone spoiling it and make you look bad. You can look back in history and you will always find bad ppl hiding behind relegion or using it as a right to do stupid things, Bush was fighting in Iraq with God and some of us think thats good. Try imagening yourself as a basic Iraq citizen, without TV, radio or internet, you wont know what your leaders has done, the only thing you know may be propaganda, and yeah you will hate foreign soldiers because they blow up your home and house. Think before you open your mouth or write some shit about religion.

absolutely correct

however the problem with islam is that the majority of the non-fundamental muslims dont stand up against the ones 'using' their religion. for example here in germany there have been various murder incidents where muslim males killed their sister/daughter/wife in order to restore 'family honor'. as much as i think that not even 1% of the muslim community agree with such horrible acts i also want them to stand up and state their opinion. this is why we have a muslim central council in germany, but this council only speaks when they try to point out discrimination against their religion they dont do shit when it comes to condemning incidents like 'honor murders' or even deliberate non-integration.

Most of the people living in the countries where this stuff takes place have larger issues to deal with than worrying about the image of their religion to the world. Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq... none of these are going to win the award for most stable democracy anytime soon.

Living in england now i can see why so many people have a problem with the islam.

muslims are basically invading europe, and immigrating to all these countries, and then trying to introduce sharia law and claim that they are above the countries laws because of their religion. sharia law condones so many things that im pretty sure everyone on this forum would find totally outrageous.
examples: women being 2nd class citizens, hatred of gays/every other religion etc. etc. 
if you decide to not be muslim anymore in countries like iran and whatnot you get killed.

i dont see how people can defend islam so ademently.


Yes, not every muslim is bad, many/most have good morals and are good people
Yes, other religions are bad too...

but the bottom line is that islam is going to take over the world soon if people keep being so damn politically correct... people need to stand up for what is right rather than being pussies and letting people who claim religion as their reasons do whatever they want.




basically, organized relgion is one of the biggest problems in the world today... its not that im against religion, people have the right to worship whatever they want and do whatever they want in their own homes... but whatever happened to the US constitution???  seperation of church and state???
people need to stand up for what is right and stop being politically correct before this sh*t gets bad.

its the same here in Singapore which has a large Muslim Malay population. Malay people ask me to take off my crucifix in their presence so i turn it on them and ask them to remove their shawls and they look at me like im fucking crazy. i keep my crucifix on, but i hide it out of respect. Muslims do try and establish their power in other countries because one of Islams goals (not talking about the 5 pillars) is to convert as many infidels to the way of Allah. so when they try and do this and insult my religion and Jewish religion by saying no ,, hide your crucifix, take off your yarmulke but we will treat your women like dogs and make them all wear shawls because it is our way and its the right way you have to realize its a huge cultural difference. and while the majority of Muslims wish to co-exist, there are always gonna be d-bags who insist on doing shit their way. a good example is Reverend Al Sharpton. he thinks he is the spokesperson for all African Americans yet most African Americans think hes retarded. but you still see 300 or 400 black people who DO support him marching behind him in protests. not saying he is a bad influence or am i insulting his causes, but there are always people who think they lead groups of people who are douchebags and dont necessarily represent the views of those people.

i wish this was all so much easier. fuckin hell.
