Should I go to school in denver?

So right now I live in Jersey... there is a school in denver (Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design). I haven't checked it out yet in person, and although it looks nice the freshmen return rate is like 60%. But really what would prob. make or break my decision is how easy it is to ski... or if I'm just going to be in the same boat as living in Jersey (2 hours to the closest mole hill). The college is in "Lakewood" wherever that is.

Can anyone help me?

You are about 1 hour 40 minutes from the mountains...but they are amazing mountains...not like what you have in jersey.

I go to Colorado Christian University in lakewood.  On a good day it only takes me  little over an hour to get to keystone.  I get up about 3 days a week, and it's rad.  I just moved here from MN.  Totally worth it bro.  Do it.

lakewood is the farthest west part of denver, aka closest to skiing, you'll be good, my friends lived there last year, and it took usually about hour to hour 15 to get up to key, and another 15 to breck, though i guess if you hit traffic badly it could take like hour and a half to 2. theres also lots of rails in the lakewood area (hint, look at realtime, a few of em in that movie) if you're interested in urban.

A friend of mine from back home in VT goes there and its been a good fit for him, he goes snowboarding a decent amount.

the location might be a little better than CU, but there are more shredders at CU, but maybe cu is maybe not as good for what you want to study?

I just started at RMCAD this semester. A few months ago I was exactly where you were.

As far as the school goes, it's a pretty cool place. All the teachers are super cool and really know what they are talking about. If you want a big campus with huge parties all the time, look elsewhere. RMCAD is tiny, after a week or two you get to know like 50% of the people on campus.

Skiing isn't hard...just if you don't have a car, it can be frustrating. Tons of people from here carpool though. The drive isn't that far. Without traffic it only takes a little over an hour, but I-70 is a giant shithole deathtrap. There's always an accident and traffic is usually always backed up throwing you off by an hour depending on the time you leave. I've been leaving super early and making out ok though. Bottomline, make friends in summit county.

Oh and if you're planning on staying at the regency, it's pretty good for your first semester...just dont take a year lease. That place is a giant shithole.

yea ryans right i mean denver is way closer than boulder.  plus you should go where the best school is, there are a lot of art schools in denver so dont let a 20 min longer commute to summit county prevent you from going to the best school

Have to add that you will be 15 to 20 minutes away from the sickest water ramp splash pool park on the planet.  A couple of weeks at Huck and Splash and you will be world class steezy.  Guys, I need your help.  Go to huckandsplash.com and follow the link to the Huck and Splash group on Facebook that my guys set up.  Become a member of the group.  I will be giving everyone who signs up for the group a serious discount on a season pass.   We have over 1850 signed up so far.  I know people are going to be stoked on this place.   I need to convince sponsors to loosen the purse strings so I can get it built.  Spread the word and get your buds to sign up too.  The Facebook group is key because I can send sponsors to it and show them that people want this.  If you guys have any questions send me a message or you can contact me through the website.  Thx.  Shred
