i wear them when im in the mountains but if im at my local hill or hill by my house i dont' see the point because the it takes longer to put the poles on and off than it does to ski the hill

i have the leki trigger poles which dont have straps. only these little things that stick into the pole and then you push a button to get out

Always. That way I don't have to hike back up for my poles every time I take a hit.

straps are there for a reason. they suppport your hand when planting yoour pole. you guys obviously dont care about how you ski only how cool you look

why wouldnt you wear them? I hate not having them when I am with skis that dont, they are so usefull.. and you dont need to take them off when mounting a chair.

ya i got those leki poles too. i love em. highly recommended. it's good cause even if you let go the handle stays right there for you to grab on again.

I have Leki poles, those buckle things are so nice. Sometimes when I grab I lose my pole but thanks to the buckle thing it's still there.

i don't sport them just because i ski way too many tight trees and already about six times this season i've hooked a basket and if my straps would have been on i would've yanked my shoulder out of it's socket (for the 2nd time this year)

why would you want your poled to fall off if you bail? so you have to hike back up to get them...if you hold them the right way..with the strap in the palm of your hand instead of around your thumb..they wont hurt you if you fall..and you are retarded if you dont wear them..cause you obviously dont know what they are for

definitely wear them all the time...i've tried without a few times and it just doesn't feel right......i have heard that if you wear them you have a greater chance of knocking your thumb out and tearing it pretty bad if you fall on it but i've never heard of an actual case...straps are a go for me, i hear all of you about not having to hike for them, word

I also don't wear straps in the park. If you bail with straps on the pole can dig into the snow, wrap around your arm and snap it quickly.

This is how I ended up with a broken wrist back in the day, had to get two pins in my wrist- haven't used the straps since.

i broke my thumb and tore the hell out of the tendons and ligaments because of the strap. i still wear them religiously. lazyness outweighs safety

i wear my straps cuz if i fall, and i dont have um on, theyre the first things to go. and they go pretty far too. i dont wanna impale ne little kids.

but alot of the time when i have my straps on, and i fall. the straps just fall off my wrists and fall away neway. they just dont go as far.


deffinetly wear your straps.

I freakin rode over my pole, fell off of a rail onto it, and got it stuck in a tree. After that I realized that I shouldnt wear the straps.
