Broke my collarbone

last run, not even really doing anything
i have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but this is pretty painful
i cant ski for a while, and can only like a bong thats about a foot and a half tall

my question is.....
who else has broken there collarbne?
recovery time?
is there anything i can do to help it, or reduce the pain (besides drugs)

I broke mine like two years ago..
and it hurts really bad i'm sure you know..
They gave me a brace thing instead of a sling to wear and that helped a lot, it hurt to put on at first but it helped to recover faster.
It took a long time to feel right again and it still feel it sometimes.

wait five weeks man. it sucks, but is worth not re-breaking.
you'll feel pretty money after 3 weeks. but wait the extra two.

i broke mine last summer mountain biking and was back on the bike 3 weeks later. it still hurt and i wasnt doing any jumps but i could ride atleast =]

just keep active dude. alcohol and deep heat muscle rub are the way forward =]

it depends how you broke it.

I broke my right collar bone all the way through and it was way more painful and longer recovery time. I had to wear this butterfly thing to pull my shoulders back.

My left one, a couple of years later, I broke like a green stick in that it did not break all the way through. I felt money in a couple of weeks but every time I fell skiing it killed. I ended up re breaking it playing IM flag football of all things with a super mellow fall. It still gives me problems and took a good year to completely heal and I have a huge bump.

So basically give it more time than you think and wear the sling. You will regret it if you don't.

worst part is i was going to jackson for 4 days next week, and i just got back from SIA which was an amazing 3 days, i advise everyone to try and go sometime

i broke mine 2 weeks ago and i can pretty much move it, i broke it all the way through but i still wont ski for another 2/3 weeks.
it sucks ASS.

i rebroke mine last wednesday and the bones will stop grinding everytime you move in a week or less... but i broke my arm last year at this time and i broke my collar bone in november... im out for the winter now because i rebroke it, shit sucks dude but play xbox, hang with your girlfriend and smoke buds

i went to the mountain doctor but theyre kinda idiots (3 girls under 30)
and i dont go in to a real doctor until tomorrow

I broke mine mid December and I'm about 2 weeks out from being 100% again.  Just don't push it.  It will be very vulnerable to breaking again in about 3-4 week, so you have to watch it.  Just lay low, let people do stuff for you and take it easy.
