How do i know if i broke my heel?

i cased a jump really bad yesterday and left a huge hole in a solid piece of ice and my heel hurts really bad.. i cant put any pressure on it and it even hurts like a bitch when i just walk on my toes on that foot

im just wondering how i know if its just bruised really bad or possibly broken?

so has anyone else broken their heel on here? and whats it like?

im just curious, either way im probably goin to the doctor tomorrow

i havent broke my heel but ive bruised the tendons on the bottom of it and it didnt hurt as bad as you made it sound so i guess you should probably go to the docter.

shit

oh and also, if i elevate my foot it hurts less, but when i stand up again it starts to like throb and hurt alot more

you might have punctured the pillow/bubble thing that's inside your heel. I did it once like 8 years ago, but I don't remember very much of it.

you probably just bruised the bone cause i have done that  couple times. it hurts like hell but theres not much you can do about it

Get an Xray, a CT scan if you can because those are more detailed. I broke my heel and 2 other bones in my foot on December 17th and have been on crutches since then, and the docs think 3-6 more weeks still for me.

maybe if you knew how to read you would have realized i was going to the doctor today regardless of what NS said and i was just wondering if anyone on here knew anything about it

The exact thing happened to me around early December, except I overshot a jump by about a mile. Couldn't walk at all or put pressure on it, got an x-ray and found out I had a slight stress fracture/small crack in my heel. Doc said I should be on crutches for 3 weeks and not hit any more jumps. It was probably a bad idea but I didn't use crutches for a single day and I skied 6 days later, hit jumps 2 weeks after. It still continued to hurt, but not as bad. Just don't ski as hard as you normally would.

I had an almost identical situation to this last season. just hitting a 80ft euro jump repeatedly for weeks (we build landings flat in some resorts for extra fun). It'd been hurting like you say for a week so I went and got checked out. I had a spiderweb fracture on my left heel, completely cracked to fuck. I chose to ride a comp the next day and one fracture line grew up to my heel bone on the side.
I now can't jump for more than a day wothout taking 2days off...
I really just wanna advise anyone who reads this with any injury that should get it checked out, I thought I was going places with skiing and now I'm a spectator most of the time!

bone bruises blow, got one on my hip the other day and couldn't walk that night. my one ass cheek is like 3x the size of the other...not pretty

i twisted my ankle at lacrosse and they are killing me. what ive been doing is making my boots very tight and just jibbin, im staying away from jumps for like a week cause the impact kills my feet.
