SHIN BANG!!!

i have gotten shin bang really bad these last few days and im really sick of it. i have tried everything but i seriouly about to lose my boots,

whats the best ski boot to have in the park?

You could get whats called a booster strap they work good. But your boot is to big ^so ya get one that fits

i found the perfect soultion to shinbang last year if you dont want to spend a dime...

so i went nightskiing after school one day, and i get there to find i had forgotten my boots. im tight with a lot of employess there so they got me some rear entry circa 95 head boots. i was extremely pissed at first, but then i realized about an hour later that my shins had no pain( at the time i had terrible shin bang) i was amazed. idk what it is about them, but i havent had a single lower leg problem since

shin bang is caused when the top of the boot isn't firmly touching your calf completely and it "bangs" back and forth, try running your powerstrap or booster strap directly on the liner under the shell

my bots fit perfectly. i think its just the flex?? could that be an issue. i think they are 130s flex and im pretty sure thats to stiff. i will most likly get a booster strap. it sound like it works. when i put them super tight and go off jumps they are fine. but on rails it hurts. and its the oppisite for when i put them loose

Thats really weird, talk to someone knowledgable that you know that won't be trying to sell you product, booster straps could help your problem, but I've never heard of shinbang on rails.

If you're getting new boots, then there is no right answer that you'll get from newschoolers. You're best bet for new boots is to go into the highest performance ski shop where you live and get them to help you find a boot. If they're legit they'll punch them out, heat mold etc to get them to fit you perfectly.

Never had shin bang with salomon foil boots with booster strap advance. Get some booster straps

Well if you do end up trying on some new boots, give the SPK a whirl.  Really soft, but if you are into that kind of boot they are extremely comfortable for a lot of people.

Not true.
Shin bang, more often than not, is cause not by any physical "banging", but by straining the muscles and other tissues in the shin area, a lot of times it's from riding backseat.

as was already said, not true.

think about how you recover your balance if you're leaning back in the boot-- you pull your body forward with the same muscles you'd use to lift the ball of your foot off the ground -- over use of these muscles is the painful shin bang.

how to help get rid of shinbang pain:


1. fill your bathtub up 1/2 way or so with water (not warm)
2. add a bag or 2 of ice
3. layer up your torso -- couple of sweatshirts a hat
4. set the timer for 12 minutes
5. get in that ice bath! (warn those who share your house with you that any loud explicit yells are to be expected for the next 12 minutes)
