One binding mounted further forward than the other.

I just got my skis back from the shop and upon close inspection, I noticed that one ski has the bindings slightly further forward than the other. Its barely noticeable, but it bothers me. The difference is only like 2-3 mm, which isn't that much, but do you guys think it would make a difference? BTW, I ride 08 line blends with look tt08.

i always trip about this on my skis, and i've been mounting skis for 6 years. it's really in your head, and in how you are holding the skis when you are looking at them. trust me. and besides, unless it's like half a cm off, you'll be fine.

its because they didnt use a jig when they mounted and tried to measure out and free drill it. id be pissed, any small difference between ur skis will change the way they ski. measure it out, carefully, and see how far its off. also make sure to check for true center of the ski, we had a guy bring his skis into our shop for a remount last week that another shop, and they mouned one heel further ahead than the other, and didnt mount them centered on the ski

shop moutned mine 1.5cm forward when i asked for 1cm back from center, that was pretty pathetic by them. but i think they matched up atleast, haha

Seeing that they are Line skis, I almost guarantee that it is because they measured using the "recommended line" that is on the graphics of the ski. Rossignol, Line, and many other ski companies are well known for having graphics that are off by as much as >1cm.
That being said, you will not notice it. I can assure you that a large percentage of NSers are riding skis that weren't mounted 100% correctly without noticing it. Most shops just don't take the time to care whether or not the rec. line on the graphics is the same on each ski or not.

Actually, I measured and drew a line myself, its 3 cm forward of the rec. line. I really tried to make sure that these were the same. (I measured 3 times to make sure). I also measured how much they are off, and its 2 mm. not that much. I'm going to Gore mtn tomorrow, I'll let you know how they work out.

Good job on drawing a line, that is not too common amongst newschoolers. If it really does affect performance, which I really don't think it will, at least you can say that you legitimately did everything in your power to get it right.
Sincerely try and go into tomorrow not thinking about your skis and how they are mounted at all. 2mm is extremely negligible, so you really shouldn't be able to tell. Just go out and have a blast on your new sticks.

I rode them today, and I couldn't tell which one was which. I purposely didn't look beforehand too, so it was a "blind" trial. Guess its no big deal.
