New Rossi skis suck

-long story short is on the bottom-

I need help on deciding which skis to buy, they dont have to be brand spankin 2009 models, they could be any year. I currently ride on K2 public enemies and as everybody knows, they feel like they weigh tons.
So just yesterday, I tried out my friend's skis that he got from sportsauthority-Rossignol Sprayers. he said that sports authority said those were the new models since he saw the older models in the store but rossi's sight doesn't have any info on em.
basically, since those sprayers felt much lighter than my PEs i thought i would have a easier time in the park, but they are horrible imo. they were hard to ski around mountain compared to my public enemies

long story short, i would like to hear some opinions on which new skis to buy.
some info about me
5'6"
130lbs
40% park/60% all mountain(some days are diff, i might spend 80% of my time in the park)
i want a ski that has the all mountain+park functionality of the k2 public enemies(i ride 04/05 models)
i had some ideas in my head like line invaders/anthems(only good in park?)
or maybe even disorderlys

any brand ski is fine

my goals this year are really mainly to progress in park
i got down 180s and boxes so far....=/

yo grab some pipecleaners they are siiiiiiiiiiick. my pc's have practically the same dimensions as my pe's.. but they kill it so much better. as for mounting, it really depends on which ski you have. if you buy a symmetrical ski then mount it center, if you buy a non-symmetrical ski mount it wherever you like. i mounted my pc's 3 or so cm back from center, right at armada's suggested mounting point and i am quite happy..

Actually the Sprayers are a couple years old, and were Rossi's price point ski.
The newer, top-o-line skis have the WRS (weight reduction system) and are amazing.

sports authority only buys close out skis from rossi.  the sprayers are mad old, and are their cheaper ski.
rossi s3,4,and 5 are good for anything all mountain depending on the waist you want...

but this years rossis are much better than years past, they use better and more wood.

I hate to disagree, but this years rossis are the exact same (exculding the S7) as last years skis.

They are much better than former years, but they are no different than last year.

or the year previous.

06/07 was the year rossi came out with the wrs system, and they skis havent changed since, they just keep adding a bigger ski to the top and shuffle their price point stuff around some. still, i love their high end stuff.

mount the sprayers centered and beat the crap out of them, then buy from an actual ski shop, not sports authority where the "ski specialist" just drilled the holes on a bowling ball before helping you

ll its an integrated binding system, meaning you can remount many many times and it wont do harm to the skis
but my real question is what skis should i get that are light and compare to k2 public enemie,s functionality of all mountain/park?

The reason your friends skis suck is because he bought them from Sport's Authority.  It seems they only sell cheap models.  I wouldn't base you entire opinion of Rossi on those Sprayers because they have some really sick skis.  I love Rossi and I think my Dad's PE's are pieces of crap, just to put it in perspective.

Where do you live? Do you not have a LEGIT ski shop anywhere near you where you can at least demo some different types of skis to see what you like? Does your hill not have demo days? Everyone is different you know, going off of NS'ers opinions is a good starting point, but don't make your final decision like that.

The line Anthems would be a good choice for you. Don't get Pipe Cleaners if you hit rails at all, they have a porous base that is softer then normal. Race skis use softer bases cause they are faster but they will get thrashed if you hit rails

this is a  blatant lie.  this year rossi imported an african wood called okumu (sp?)  which has a really long cell body.  they used that as the layer of wood closer to the core, and they used ash i think (it's been a month since my rossi clinic) on the top layer.  the okumu strtches, and the ash, which has a shorter cell body fights the compression which in turn creates a snappier ski,  they've also made them lighter.  allthough the profile shapes are the same the change in wood makes a solid difference.

my local ski shop have no good park.all mountain twin tip skis.
i live in SF and i usually go to boreal or squaw valley
i guess i could check up there, but i really just want some opinions so i know what i would like to demo.
so far i have line anthems and k2 disorderlys in mind.


and ffor the guy who said suspects, could you elaborate?

also, currently my PEs are 159 and im pretty comfortable with the 159cm height
would it be advised to get one size higher? like 167-around that area?

this is true.. i use my dynastars or enemies if im hitting urban or skiing where snow sucks.. i take my pipecleaners on rails in the park erry day and the bases are just fine. if you take care of the base and wax a lot it's not a problem. they are such a sick park ski. I dont like the anthems... not diggin the cap construction.. sidewalls > caps

PEs really are not that heavy.  No other ski is going to be pounds lighter like you imagine.  IF you cant throw the PEs around, stick with them until you can.  Then it will be much easier with a lower swing weight ski.

Check out your local Any Mountain.  They usually have a good selection of skis.

The suspects are super durable edge anchoring and wire reinforcement, finally back to a full wood core in a salomon, 85 under foot, fairly similar to the PE, but they're stiffer and will handle the rest of the mountain better, plus have good pop.  If you ever make it out to Concord stop by Any Mountain in the Willows and see me (A.J.) or talk to Sean (DingoSean) or Rob they really know their shit. We've got walls, bridges (also a good possibility depending on arrgesiveness, and what ur doing in the park), snoops, suspects, seths, s4, s5, s7, PE and extreme, lord, Czar,  Gotama,  spark,  and anything else I can't think of off the top of my head.  Pretty decent selection of  twins for all applications.

this could be a blatant lie... but I remember a thread saying that skis at sports authority are different than skis sold at mts and legit online realitors. The companies don't expect any serious park skiers to shop at sports authority so they use cheaper materials and try to snag a lil extra money from joeys with price points. The graphics are slightly different... again i could be completely mistaken but i think i remember readin about that a year or two back

If you end up wanting the anthems, hit me up cause I have a pair of 171 octolands that are brand new that i want to sell. But if i were you, I would demo as many skis as you can get your hands on

Dude.  I am sure there are some ski shops in San Fran that sell twins.  There are so many on the way to Tahoe too.  It would be worth the extra trip to places off of I-80 that sell twins and know what they are talking about.

anyone have opinions on disorderlys?
im thinking about demo-ing anthems, and if all goes well, i might be sold with it.

im about the same height and weight as u and i ride this years jon's in 169 they are awesome everywhere and have decent float in pow pow (suprisingly) but theyre alot of $ so if ur looking 4 a cheaper ski id go with the invaders. my friend has this years and he loves them and theyre really awesome in the park and ok all mountain but a little soft for high speeds. theyre an amazing jibbing tool.

I hit rails all the time on mine.... they held up great with only a few scuffs you get on all skis which can be removed with a tune. I didnt hit any urban tho.
