Well,it`s got to that time in my life,were i have made up my mind to stop smoking green for good. I have been smoking every day for the last 10 or 11 years now and paranoia has finally hit me hard for the last 5 weeks. I`m coastally on edge,hear shit. I can`t sleep at night. Every little noise i hear,i have  to get up and see what the fuck it was. I feel unsteady on my feet and started shacking all the time and also it`s not been helping my skiing the last 3 winters,whats not good.

well maybe if you didn't smoke eryday you wouldn't be fucked. i smoke when my friends wanna smoke and we make sure we enjoy it to the fullest, otherwise what's the point? i don't need weed to live life, but i use it to make me feel better when i don't want to depress my friends.

Good for you man, smokeing is a great thing for some people but others bodies just shut down on it after a while. i  dont think it will be to hard for you to stop.  you sound exactly how i did when i stopped.  Since then (about a year ago) i have only smoked 2-3 times it was nice but deffanalty makes me realize i like being sober over high every day.

I can relate to you my friend. Not about the coughing up a lung, hearing things and shit paranoia but I have just quit smoking weed too. My parents caught me and even tho it wasn't that bad I don't want to ski anymore. Drinking should waste my time when i'm not skiing. Ever since I quit smoking weed I feel like I have better concentrated on skiing and I have improved over the past week more then I improved in a year last winter. It is truely amazing.

To the people who do smoke, watch out. Even though you think you will never get caught and you think it is not possible, it is, trust me. I never thought I was going to get caught at all but I did. So go out smoke and have a fun time but it will catch up to you I garentee it. And though some peoples parents don't care, for those of you who parents would flip, it is the worst. You can smoke I just wish you the best of luck not getting caught.

At this point I can say I will not smoke weed again. It is a good time but I feel it is pointless to any other aspect of life. When I smoked I did have the best times of my life but it is time to put that behind me and start to get serious about life. I miss it but I cant do it again. No matter how many blunts my friends smoke or how many parties I go to I can't smoke weed again. It's just a promise I have made to myself and intend to keep. I have never felt better in my life and I feel it is a new beggining. So cheers to you and me dude and let's go out and kill it on the mountain!!

i dunoooo about that... a good buddy of mine had to go on xanax to deal with the shock of quitting... I'm sick of everyone treating marijuana like there are no side effects. It may not be "physically addictive" but the emotional repercussions of using a depressant on a daily basis can be a bit rough, especially when it comes time to quit. I still smoke but I'm a lot more aware of what I'm doing now.

well,last night i never felt as paranoid,on edge when i was trying to sleep or when i wake up i don`t have this buzzing in my ears or find it hard to breath,dizzy spells.

gotta back him up here. if you claim to have smoked for 10 years, that means you are at least mid 20s. by that age, most people should know how to use punctuation. no hate, just my thoughts. claiming free country doesnt cure the plague that is poor english. i'm not a huge grammar nazi, but sometimes shit can't go unaddressed. i was gonna say something as well.

yeah while quitting is def a step in the right direction for you, but other people make way too big a deal about weed.  there is absolutely nothing wrong with smoking every once and a while.  I never understand why people quit permanently.

best of luck to you and i honestly mean that. i dont think that its the weed though. i admit you have been smoking longer and heavier then myself but i know a few people who have been smoking weed daily for probably 20+ years. they are also very respected members of the fairbanks community. marijuana is not considered addicting because there are no withdrawal symptoms meaning you can stop. i do think that with habitual use psychological dependancies will arise, but its all mental and you telling yourself that you need it. i do not know you personally so completely disregard this if you are offended but your problems may lay deeper then your chronic chronic use and i only say this from my own experience... your welcome to hate this is just my input on the matter.

my plan to stop smoking,has went to shit. i had to get up at 10am this morning to do some stuff. with no sleep and been in a very bad mood. so,i thought fuck it,i`m a way to blaze. when i got home i phoned my dealer to hook me up with a bit of green,but he never had shit. all he had was hash. i was kind of pissed at this,but not a big deal. so i ended up geting 1oz of hash instead. i sold a hafe O and a quertar and keeped a quertar for my self to blaze.

i`m such a fucking let down.

yeah dont beat yourself up. quitting anything cold turkey after 10 years would be hard to do. try setting smaller goals. like 3 days to begin with and on the 3rd day maybe kick back and smoke a blunt and then try taking a week off. just wean yourself off. stay busy and keep your mind on fun.

you wanted to get high so you went off and bought an ounce of hash? man there is no rational thought involved there, in fact its really hard to believe you now. and if you fought your way through high school, what kind of job do you have now? you would have to be a doctor or something to afford all that stash, unless your "good dealer friend" likes giving hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of product to his friends at no cost. which i really doubt
