Playing with mounting and the heelpiece track

Alright, so I didnt really searchbar this very much, since I wasnt really sure what to searchbar, but here goes. So last season I got my skis mounted at 1.5cm back from true center, but with the heelpiece moved almost all the way forwards, so they look like they are mounted for recommended, but they ski like they are mounted at -1.5, the added bit of heelpiece also adds stiffness in the tails for backseat landings. I was wondering if anyone else had tried this before, and what did they think about it?

wow thanks for the input, except its a legitimate question... i have about an inch of movement in my heelpeice track, and so i was wondering if anyone else had tried something like what I have done.....

first off, the toe is what designates wether the boot center lines up with recommended, not the heel. and i understand how the heel being all the way forward in the track makes the tail stiffer. since the track is mounted further back than it should be, the screws increase the dead spot of the ski toward the tail. i guess its a thought if youre worried your tails are too soft

Ok, but you're not getting where it doesn't make sense. To do that, you would need to get you bindings mounted at 1.5cm back( or whatever length back) with a boot that is a few sizes too big. Then, yes, you would be able to pull the heel in and make them fit your boots, and have the plate mounted farther back. You can't just go pulling the heel in, because it will just keep your boot where it is and make your forward pressure through the roof.

i never said i wanted to pull the heelpeice in..... i said i mounted the heelpeice with the track already pulled all the way in. im not retarted, i know you cant just decide "oh i think im going topull the heelpeice in alot, especially if its an inch give or take. not trying to be offensive or anything, i mean i probably could have worded it differently to make more sense to some.

also if you need to get a bigger pair of boots you have plenty of room to move them back

No, that's not good for the ski or flex. You've effectively lengthened your mounting footprint by an inch or so giving you a longer dead spot. Doing the opposite is good (mounting the heel about an inch too far forward then adjusting it all the way back) to give you a shorter footprint and less dead spot.
