you have to warm it up quickly or else the film will go bad.
stick it in the microwave for 4-5 minutes.

but, you should keep your car warm on the way back, but really, you don't need to do much, just keep it room temp. i think

Assuming you are talking about a video camera: let it warm up and dry out at room temp before using it.

Condensation from winter weather and from drastic temperature changes can temporarily or permanently disable these things very easily.

Leave the tape deck open so you can get the condensation out from the inside.

Don't warm your camera up too quickly.  A large change in temperature makes glass very weak and you could shatter your lense (i think).

once you're done for the day seal your camera in a plastic bag for a few hours, it'll help with the condensation and temperature change
